The MF Mini Walk is a slim surface bait built to imitate a small baitfish skipping and turning near the top, and it is the lightest-loaded lure in the Luresfactory topwater range: 6.7g spread across a 6cm body works out at about 1.1g per centimetre, roughly half the loading of the 4cm TR Baby Frog. Everything about the way it fishes follows from that number. It sits very high in the film, it slides a long way sideways on each twitch, and it can be walked slower than any of the compact resin frogs before it stops responding — which is exactly what you want on flat, clear water and on fish that follow without committing. The trade-off is honest: a light 6cm body is affected by wind on the cast, and the belly and rear trebles are fully exposed, so this is an open-water and clean-edge lure rather than something to drag over matted weed. The slim body carries a scale pattern, a realistic eye and a reflective finish, and the rear treble is dressed with feathers that keep breathing during every pause.

How To Fish It

• Walk the dog — Point the rod tip down, keep a small amount of slack, and twitch in a steady rhythm while taking up line between twitches. Short, soft twitches give a tight side-to-side slide; longer, harder ones swing the body much wider.
• Slow walk with long pauses — Because the body is so light for its length it keeps sitting level when you stop. Take two twitches, then pause for two or three seconds and let the rear feathers open and close on their own.
• Skip and dead stick — Use a low sidearm cast to skip it under jetties, pontoons and overhanging branches, then leave it still before starting the walk.
• Fish current seams and wind lanes — Cast across a seam and walk it back along the edge where bait collects. On breezy days the light body drifts naturally along a wind lane with only occasional twitches.
• Keep it clear of thick cover — With two exposed trebles it works best over open water, sand, clean weed edges and rock walls. Around lily pads and matted grass, one of the weedless frogs in the range is the better choice.

• Light to medium spinning or light baitcasting rod with a soft tip — a stiff rod makes a 6.7g bait walk stiffly and jump instead of gliding
• 10–20 lb braid; the light body needs a thin, low-drag line to cast well and to leave enough slack for the walking rhythm
• Fluorocarbon leader of 12–20 lb in clear water, with a short wire trace where toothy species are present
