LURESFACTORY - MF LIZA 7.5cm 17.2g LIZARD HARDBODY LURE TOPWATER
Luresfactory MF Liza 7.5cm 17.2g Lizard Hardbody Topwater
The MF Liza is a topwater hard bait built around an iguana-inspired body, with a detailed reptile pattern and textured skin rather than the usual frog or minnow shape. That unusual profile gives predators a target they have not seen a hundred times before, which matters on pressured water. Behind the body sits a rotating metal blade that churns the surface as the lure is drawn along, adding flash, vibration and splash — a much louder presentation than a plain walking frog. At 7.5cm and 17.2g it is one of the heaviest surface lures in the Lure Factory line-up, and the weight is the point: it casts a long way, holds its line in wind, and gives fish a large mouthful. A sharp rear treble sits behind the blade to catch fish striking from astern, so unlike the close-hooked frogs it belongs in open water, shallow flats and clean weed edges rather than matted cover.
Key Features
- Iguana-inspired hard body with a detailed reptile pattern and textured finish
- Rear metal propeller-style blade rotates during the retrieve
- Blade creates extra flash, splash and water disturbance
- Fitted with a sharp rear treble hook
- Weighted body supports smooth, long casting
- Works on a steady retrieve or a twitch-and-pause cadence
- Five colour patterns
How To Fish It
- Steady retrieve — The simplest way to fish it. Wind at a constant speed so the blade spins continuously and lays a bubble trail. Vary the speed to find the rate that keeps the blade turning without lifting the body.
- Twitch and pause — Two or three rod-tip twitches to make the blade chop and spit, then a stop. The blade stalls on the pause and kicks again as you restart, and that restart is a common strike trigger.
- Long searching casts — Use the 17.2g to cover big water: reservoir arms, river bends, wide canals and windward banks that lighter surface lures cannot reach.
- Fish it at low light — Dawn, dusk and overcast days suit a noisy prop bait. In flat calm slow down; in a ripple speed up so the blade keeps cutting.
- Set on weight, not splash — With an exposed treble, keep winding through the blow-up until the rod loads, then sweep. Striking at the sight of the boil pulls the lure away from the fish.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) on reservoirs, ex-mining lakes and drowned timber; hampala barb (sebarau) in river runs and rapids tails; peacock bass over open shallows; barramundi (siakap) along mangrove edges and jetty lines.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on open lake flats and points, musky and pike on shallow weed edges, bowfin in southern backwaters.
- Japan & East Asia — Bass on reservoir shallows and snakehead (raigyo) along open canal edges, where prop-style surface baits are a long-established search tool.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Barramundi and saratoga in billabongs and creek systems; pike over weed beds in European lakes; queenfish and small trevally over shallow flats.
