LURESFACTORY - MF ARWANA 7cm 9.5g HARDBODY LURE
Luresfactory MF Arwana 7cm 9.5g Hardbody Lure
The MF Arwana is a slim, lipless sinking hard lure shaped after the long body of an arowana, finished with a realistic scale pattern, a reflective coat and a detailed eye. What sets it apart within this range is its weight-to-length ratio: at 7cm it carries only 9.5g, making it the longest-but-lightest lure in the series. A long body with little weight in it sinks slowly rather than dropping, sits high in the water column on the retrieve, and glides further on each jerk before it settles. That combination lets you work it at speeds where a denser lure would already be on the bottom — which is what you want in clear water and on fish that have seen too much tackle. Rhythmic rod movements produce a side-to-side underwater walk-the-dog; slow jerks give a controlled, natural drift, faster jerks an irregular, aggressive track for active fish.

How To Fish It
- Count it down — Cast, then count the sink in seconds before starting. Because it sinks slowly, small changes in the count move you through the column gradually rather than in jumps. Note the count that produces the strike and repeat it.
- Underwater walk-the-dog — Rod tip low with a little slack, twitch evenly at a steady rhythm so the body swings side to side under the surface. The light body glides wide on each stroke.
- Slow jerks in clear water — On calm, clear reservoirs and on fish that have refused faster lures, lengthen the pause between jerks. The slow descent keeps the lure in the strike zone through the whole pause instead of falling out of it.
- Fast, irregular jerks for active fish — Sharper, closer-spaced strokes make the track erratic and cover water quickly when fish are feeding.
- Stop-and-go — Wind steadily, then stop dead. The change from swimming to sinking is often what makes a following fish commit.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) in clear rivers and reservoir inflows, giant snakehead (toman) around weed edges, peacock bass on open flats, barramundi (siakap) in mangrove channels and around jetty lights.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on clear lakes and rivers, walleye and white bass on jerked presentations, striped bass in tailwaters.
- Japan & East Asia — Bass on pressured clear-water reservoirs, seabass (suzuki) in harbours and river mouths, and light shore casting for small pelagics.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass and barramundi in freshwater impoundments; perch, zander and pike in clear European lakes and canals; queenfish on Gulf flats.

Recommended Pairing
- Light to medium spinning or casting rod with a tip soft enough to work a jerk cadence without killing the glide
- 10–20 lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader; keep the leader long in clear water
- Add a short wire trace only where toothy species are present, as heavy terminal tackle will shorten the glide on a lure this light
