LURESFACTORY - MARA FROG 32mm 6g SOFT FROG TOPWATER
Luresfactory Mara Frog 32mm 6g Soft Frog Topwater
The Mara Frog is a 3.2cm, 6g soft topwater frog built around a high-buoyancy body and a pair of small premium blades. The combination of a lifelike frog shape and a genuinely soft body means the lure sits high on the surface but folds flat when a fish clamps down, which keeps the hook points clear. The twin blades add vibration and a fine surface noise, so the same lure can be fished silently on a slow crawl or noisily on a faster wind. At 32mm it is the finesse size in the range, and the one to reach for when fish boil short on bigger frogs.
Key Features
- Topwater soft frog, 3.2cm and 6g
- Soft, high-buoyancy body that sits high and compresses on the strike
- Lifelike frog appearance and action
- Finesse premium double blades for vibration and surface noise
- Sharpened hook point
- Versatile: works on a crawl, a steady wind or a twitched retrieve
- Nine colour patterns for clear, stained and low-light water
How To Fish It
- Slow crawl for clear water — Wind just fast enough to keep the blades turning. In low, clear ponds the quiet version of this lure often out-fishes a loud frog.
- Walk-the-dog frog steps — Rod tip low with a little slack, twitch in an even rhythm so the frog swings side to side across lanes between weed beds and along drain edges.
- Point-hopping over floating weed — On duckweed and salvinia, lift the rod tip in short sharp taps to hop the frog across the mat, then hold it still in every open hole for a two- to three-second count.
- Pause a beat before setting — Fish frequently displace water over the frog without eating it. Keep winding through the blow-up, wait until the rod loads, then sweep to the side instead of striking up.
- Squeeze out water and air — Compress the soft body after each fish or heavy weed drag so it drains and returns to its original buoyancy.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Striped snakehead (haruan) in paddy drains and irrigation canals, giant snakehead (toman) around weeded pond edges and reservoir timber, peacock bass in lily pockets, hampala barb (sebarau) on weed lines.
- North America — Largemouth bass frog fishing on pads and duckweed, especially on pressured waters where a downsized frog draws more committed bites; chain pickerel and bowfin in backwaters.
- Japan & East Asia — Snakehead (raigyo) on matted cover, catfish (namazu) at dusk in canals, and bass over shallow weed in reservoirs.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Saratoga in lily-covered billabongs and juvenile barramundi (siakap) in weedy creek arms; perch and pike over weed in European lakes and canals.
