Lure Factory Japan Double Hook With Double Blade (Twin Blade)

This is a modification part, not a lure. It is a double hook — two points on a single shank, the standard hook form for hollow-body frogs and other weedless topwater baits — with two small blades hung behind it on a rolling swivel. Swapping it in for a plain double turns a silent bait into one that throws flash and pushes water on every twitch, without changing how the bait sits or how weedless it is. The rolling swivel matters more than it looks: it lets the blades turn freely on the retrieve and on the fall instead of binding up and putting twist into the leader. Supplied in #1 and #1/0.

What the blades actually change. Two things. Flash, which gives a dark frog or a solid-colour soft plastic a moving highlight that fish can track from further away in stained or tannin water. And drag, which slows the sink rate and adds a small amount of lift, so a weighted bait falls flatter and hangs longer in the strike zone. That extra drag is the trade-off as well: casting distance drops slightly, and a blade will foul in thick surface weed where a bare double would slide through. Use it on open pads, edges and channels; keep plain doubles for the heaviest mats.

How To Rig It

• Frog hook swap — Take the stock double out of a hollow-body frog and fit this one in its place, points up and following the body line. The blades trail behind the frog's legs and flash on every walk-the-dog twitch.
• Walk it, then stop — Short downward rod taps to make the bait walk side to side, then a dead stop. On the stop the blades keep swinging and flickering for a second or two — that hang is where most strikes come from.
• Trailer hook on a topwater — Clip it to the rear split ring of a pencil, popper or buzz bait as a stinger, replacing a treble with a cleaner-releasing double plus flash.
• Behind soft plastics — Rig a paddle-tail or creature bait on it so the blades sit under the tail, for a slow-falling, flashing drop along drop-offs and timber.
• Wait for the weight — On a surface take, do not strike at the splash. Wait until the rod loads, then sweep low and sideways and keep winding.

• Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) and striped snakehead (haruan) over lily pads and flooded timber, peacock bass in reservoirs, hampala barb (sebarau) in rivers, and barramundi (siakap) on mangrove edges.
• North America — Largemouth bass frogging over pads, slop and grass edges; pike and pickerel in weedy northern lakes.
• Japan & East Asia — Raigyo (snakehead) frogging on lotus and reed ponds, the fishery this hook style comes from, and largemouth bass in weedy lakes.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Saratoga and barramundi in lily-pad billabongs and northern impoundments; pike and perch over weed beds and canal edges in Europe.
