The Bufo Let's Go V.9 "Gangnam" is the heaviest frog in the Let's Go range: a handmade floating resin body of 5cm carrying 15g. On the same 5cm shell used by the V.3, V.4 and V.5, those extra grams change three things at once. It casts further than anything else in the series, sits deeper in the film so a plain steady wind pushes a heavy V-wake instead of skating, and stays on line in a crosswind where the 8g and 8.5g frogs get blown off course before they land. The body carries a high-contrast two-tone finish, and a flexible silicone skirt spreads and pulses behind it on the retrieve and through every pause. A strong 2/0 hook sits close along the rear of the body, which makes it workable around light grass, weed and surface vegetation — though no lure is completely snag-free.

How To Fish It

• Long-range searching — This is the version to reach the far bank, the mid-lake timber and the weed line you cannot get to with a lighter frog. Cast it out, then work it the whole way home rather than winding in the last third.
• Heavy wake retrieve — A constant medium-slow wind settles the body into the film and drags a broad wake. The mass keeps it tracking dead straight where lighter frogs begin to skip and roll.
• Twitch and long pause — Two or three sharp rod-tip twitches, then stop for three seconds. The 5cm body swings wide, so leave slack and let each sweep finish.
• Fish it in wind — On chopped-up water the 15g body punches through and still makes a visible disturbance. Lighter frogs disappear in the waves.
• Pause before setting — Striking at the splash pulls a hard body clear of the fish. Wind through the blow-up, wait until the rod loads with weight, then sweep sideways.
