The Ignited Tail Fusion has a true baitfish profile and a texture that hard lures simply cannot replicate, and it combines the flashing appeal of a reflector and tinsel with the scent of a seafood formula. It has reached the realm of real bait, yet can do what bait cannot. Despite its small size, each piece is carefully finished with resin eyes, recreating lifelike detail down to the finest points. At 1.5 inches it sits in the Japanese light game class, small enough for aji and mebaru feeding on micro bait under harbour lights, but with enough flash and scent to turn a short bite into a hook-up. How To Fish It

• Tada-maki (steady retrieve) — On a 0.6–2 g jig head, cast, count down to the bait layer and wind slowly and evenly. This is the standard ajing and mebaring presentation around lit harbour edges.
• Lift and fall — Lift the rod tip a few inches, then let the head drop on a semi-slack line and watch the line for the tick. Almost every aji bite comes on that fall, so lift into it rather than striking hard.
• Bottom bumping — Let the jig head reach bottom, give two or three turns, then drop back to contact. This is the way to reach kasago and other rockfish sitting in the rocks.
• Surface retrieve — Where bait is rippling on top at night, use the lightest head you can cast and swim the bait just under the surface film with a very slow, unbroken wind.

Target Species By Region

• Southeast Asia — Torpedo scad (selar), juvenile trevally and small queenfish under jetty lights, plus small grouper and mangrove jack (merah bakau) worked into rock walls and timber.
• North America — Crappie, bluegill, yellow perch and smallmouth on a finesse head; speckled trout, small flounder and croaker inshore.
• Japan & East Asia — The core ajing and mebaring bait, for aji, mebaru, kasago and mekki, and useful for kamasu on light tackle at night.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Bream, whiting and small flathead in Australian estuaries; rabbitfish off Gulf marinas; perch and chub in European rivers and canals.
