HINOTSU - SJ SOLID RING 10PCS/BAG 6344 SOLID RING ACCESSORIES
Hinotsu SJ Solid Ring 6344 — Slow Jigging, 10 Pcs Per Bag
The Hinotsu 6344 is the slow-jigging member of the solid ring family. SJ stands for slow jigging, and the brief is different from a heavy popping ring: the wire is finer and the ring lighter, adding as little mass and bulk as possible to a rig whose whole purpose is letting a jig flutter, glide and fall on a slack line. Manufactured from specially treated stainless steel, it still resists deformation under heavy drag, and its chemically polished, seamless surface protects assist cord and line where they take the most load. Supplied ten to a bag in sizes #4, #5 and #6.
A solid ring is closed — one seamless loop, no gap, no coil seam. That is why it carries the knot and the assist cords, while the split ring, which opens with pliers, carries the jig and gets changed on the water. Braid and thin assist cord can work into a split ring's seam and be cut under load; a solid ring gives them nowhere to enter. The standard chain is PE braid main line → FG knot → fluorocarbon leader → solid ring → split ring → jig, with front and rear assists hanging directly off the solid ring.
Key Features
- Extra-strong solid construction for heavy drag pressure and powerful fish
- Special stainless-steel material for strength, toughness and long-term durability
- Saltwater corrosion resistance for repeated use in harsh marine environments
- Smooth chemical-polished surface reduces friction and damage to line or assist cord
- Deformation resistant — maintains its round shape under demanding loads
- Secure connection for joining assist hooks to jigs through a split ring
- Slow-jigging specific design for high-pressure offshore jigging systems
- Three sizes, supplied 10 pieces per bag
How To Rig It
- Assemble the slow-pitch chain — Leader knots to the solid ring; front and rear assist cords loop onto the same ring; a split ring goes onto the solid ring and the jig onto the split ring. Nothing tied or looped ever touches a seam.
- Open split rings with pliers only — Use the hooked tip of split ring pliers, walk the solid ring into the coil and slide it fully around before releasing. A thumbnail or knife point leaves a gap that braid will find.
- Keep the rig light — Slow pitch works because the jig falls sideways on slack line. Oversized terminal hardware kills that fall, so use the smallest size that still out-rates the rest of the rig.
- Change the whole set — Salt crusting inside the ring, rust bloom, or a ring that has taken a long fight all mean retirement. Replace solid ring, split ring and assist cords together after a hard trip.
- Match size to line class — Step up through #4, #5 and #6 as PE class, jig weight and drag increase. If unsure, step up: the ring must never be the weakest point.
