HINOTSU - ROLLING SWIVEL w/SAFETY SNAP 7713 - FISHING ACCESSORIES CLIP
Hinotsu Rolling Swivel w/Safety Snap 7713 Fishing Accessories Clip
The Hinotsu 7713 is the two-jobs-in-one piece of the Hinotsu range — a rolling swivel and a safety snap on the same body, so one component gives you both anti-twist rotation and a quick-change connection. A plain snap changes lures fast but cannot shed the twist a spinning lure or a rolling bait puts into the leader; a plain swivel sheds twist but leaves you cutting and retying every time the lure changes. Joining the two also removes a connection from the rig, which removes a place for it to fail. The rolling swivel rotates freely through 360 degrees to release twisting force and keep lure movement natural, while the safety snap closes securely and resists opening under load. Built for demanding saltwater use with a strong metal body and a protective black-nickel finish against rust, corrosion and wear, its compact, chamfered profile keeps drag and tangling down. Eight sizes, #10 through #2/0.
Rolling versus ball bearing: the 7713's rolling swivel is the practical everyday choice for bait rigs, trolled and cast lures and general terminal work. Where the lure spins hard and continuously — metal jigs, spoons, spinners, skirted trolling lures — the ball bearing hard round snap 7711 is the one in the range that keeps rotating smoothly under drag pressure rather than binding up.
Key Features
- Smooth 360° rolling rotation releases twisting force and reduces stress on the line
- Anti-twist performance improves line control and supports more natural lure action
- Safety snap connection attaches securely and resists accidental opening under load
- Quick tackle changes without cutting and retying the leader
- High pulling strength for strong fish and demanding saltwater applications
- Chamfered swivel body reduces water resistance and tangling
- Black-nickel coating protects against rust, corrosion and surface wear
- Eight sizes from #10 up to #2/0
How To Rig It
- Where it goes in the rig — Main line or leader ties to the swivel eye at the top; the lure, rig or trace clips into the snap below. On a running sinker rig the swivel is also the stop that separates the running weight from the trace, so the sinker never slides down onto the bait.
- Reading the sizes — Swivel numbering runs the opposite way to hook sizes: #10 is the smallest in this range and #2/0 the largest. Work down to #8 and #10 for light estuary and freshwater rigs and small lures, use #4 to #1 for general inshore casting, trolling and bait fishing, and go to #1/0 and #2/0 for heavy leaders, large baits and offshore rigs.
- When the snap becomes the weakest link — This series is sold by size, not by a printed lb rating, and a swivel-plus-snap has two potential failure points on one body. Around structure or on a locked drag, use the diamond insurance snap 7723 with its second closure, or for metal jigs a rated snap such as the SP-1 7719, listed at 180 lb (S) and 230 lb (M), behind a separate swivel.
- Check the gate, and spin the swivel — Close the snap fully and pull the trace sideways against it before casting. Then spin the swivel between your fingers: if it hesitates or grates, salt or grit is in the barrel and it is no longer shedding twist.
- Rinse in fresh water after saltwater use — Rinse and dry the whole terminal set after every trip. Retire any swivel with rust bloom at the barrel or a snap gate that no longer seats cleanly.
