HAYABUSA - SS114 KEIMURA SKIN MIX FLASHER SABIKI 6 PCS/PACK
Hayabusa SS114 Keimura Mackerel Skin Mix Flasher Sabiki (6 Hooks Per Pack)
The SS114 comes from Hayabusa’s Jissen Sabiki 20 (実戦サビキ20) series, boat dropper rigs built on 20 cm branch lines. Its dressing is specially processed mackerel skin — saba-kawa, the traditional sabiki material, chosen for a translucency and soft flutter synthetic film does not reproduce — finished with a keimura UV coating and backed by mixed white, pink and red flashers. Luminous beads sit alongside as a separate light source for deep or shaded water. It is a 2.8 m rig with six hooks at 40 cm spacing, in five sizes with matched branch and main lines.
Key Features
- Keimura (ケイムラ) — a UV-reactive coating that absorbs ultraviolet already present in the water and re-emits a blue-violet glow. People barely see it; fish see it plainly. Unlike luminous paint it needs no charging and cannot fade, and it is strongest in bright daylight at depth, where UV still reaches after red and orange have been filtered out.
- Mackerel skin (サバ皮) — specially processed natural skin that flutters softly and carries the striped translucency of a real baitfish flank
- Mixed flashers (フラッシャー) in white, pink and red for contrast against the skin
- Luminous attractor beads for low light and deep water — these do need charging, and complement rather than duplicate the keimura
- New Aji flattened-shank hooks in white and gold finishes
How To Fish It
- Charge the ami-kago — Fill the cage with mashed Antarctic krill (ami-ebi) and clip it to the rig; sabiki fishing (サビキ釣り) works on the bait cloud, not the dressing alone.
- Stop at the layer — Drop to the depth showing bait and hold there rather than fishing blind on the bottom.
- Shake, then hold — Two or three sharp lifts empty krill from the cage. Stop dead and let the six skins hang in the cloud, where they are taken for krill among real krill.
- Fish it deep in daylight — This is the string for a bright day in deeper water, or green coastal water where a plain silver rig has gone dull. Charge the luminous beads before dawn and dusk sessions.
- Wind slowly on a full string — Several fish on reads as a continuous tremor. Keep winding at one speed and swing the rig in; a hard lift tears hooks from soft mouths.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Indian mackerel (kembung), bigeye scad (selar) and sardine (tamban) from anchored boats and kelong; held in an aerated bucket they go back down as live bait for grouper (kerapu), queenfish (talang) and trevally.
- North America — Pacific mackerel, sardine and jacksmelt from party boats and piers; Atlantic mackerel and herring as tuna and striped bass bait.
- Japan & East Asia — Boat sabiki-zuri for aji, saba and iwashi, with the #13 and #14 sizes for autumn fish that have outgrown a fine string.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Slimy mackerel, yellowtail scad and garfish off wharves; scad along Gulf harbour walls; mackerel and herring from European piers.
