DECOY - WORM24 BODY HOOK SLIM MADE IN JAPAN
Decoy Worm24 Body Hook Slim — Size #12, Made In Japan
The Worm24 is the Body Hook taken down a class. Katsuichi kept the idea behind the Worm23 — a masubari (nose-hooking) pattern light enough that a small plastic keeps its own fall — then made the wire slimmer and the hook lighter, so micro baits of an inch or two are not weighed down at all. The trade-off at that diameter is usually resilience, which is what the bent form addresses: shank and bend are shaped to flex and return rather than open. The point is curved, suiting the sweep set light tackle allows — you lean into the fish and the point rolls into the jaw. The square-section shank Decoy call the LOCK ZONE grips the plastic so a micro bait is not torn off after three casts, and holds the fish once it is on. NS Black finish, which Katsuichi use to draw the wire hardness up at fine diameters.
Key Features
- Slimmer, lighter version of the Body Hook, made for micro baits
- Bent form that balances a slim wire with resilience under load
- Curved point matched to sweep hook-sets on light line
- Square-shank LOCK ZONE grips the plastic and reduces bait tearing
- Preserves the natural fall and quiver of a one to two inch bait
- NS Black finish for wire strength and durability
- Supplied in #12, ten hooks per pack; Katsuichi produce #12 through #4
How To Rig It
- Wacky on a micro stick — Pass the hook through the middle of a 1–2 inch worm so both ends swing free, then let it fall on slack line. On a hook this light the fall stays flat and slow.
- Neko with a small nail weight — Insert a 0.6–1.3 g nail in the head and hook the upper body. Shake it on semi-slack line so the tail stands and quivers over one spot.
- Nose hook on a drop shot — Hook a small worm through the nose above the sinker and work the tip without moving the weight. Slim wire lets a shut-down fish inhale the bait.
- Sweep, never snap — Back the drag off and pull steadily into the fish. The curved point is designed to roll home under steady pressure; a hard strike is what opens fine wire.
- Against the Worm23 — Same family, different half of the range. The Worm23 Body Hook runs superfine wire from #10 to #1/0 and is the general finesse hook for 3–5 inch sticks. The Worm24 runs #12 to #4: slimmer wire, lighter hook, curved rather than straight point, for the micro baits you reach for once a pond has been fished all weekend.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Tilapia and small carp on pressured commercial ponds, juvenile peacock bass and hampala barb (sebarau) in clear reservoirs, small jetty fish on micro plastics.
- North America — Smallmouth bass, where the combination of slim wire and torque was specifically noted; plus crappie, perch and bluegill on micro finesse rigs.
- Japan & East Asia — Black bass on heavily pressured reservoirs and canals, the bait finesse fishery this hook class exists for.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Estuary bream and Australian bass on small plastics; perch and small zander on drop shot in European canals and lakes.
