Decoy Worm106 Screw Hook — Made In Japan
The Worm106 Screw Hook replaces the plain eye of a worm hook with a wire screw that threads into the nose of a soft plastic. It solves the problem every Texas-rig angler knows: after a few casts the bait slides down the shank, sits crooked and stops running true, or simply flies off. Screwing the worm's head onto the coil locks the bait square to the hook through repeated casts, weed contact and short strikes — fewer re-rigs, less plastic wasted, and a bait that holds its intended posture. Made in Japan by Katsuichi, finished in black nickel, in five sizes from #1/0 to #5/0.
Key Features
- Wire screw keeper at the eye that threads into the bait head and locks it in place
- Stops soft plastics sliding down the hook or being thrown off on the cast
- Fewer re-rigs and noticeably longer life from each bait
- Black nickel finish
- Five sizes, #1/0 to #5/0, from finesse worms up to large creature baits
- Made in Japan by Katsuichi
How To Rig It
- Screwing the bait on — Centre the coil on the nose and turn the bait onto the screw, not the screw into the bait. Keep it on the centre line so the body finishes straight, then bring the point through in the normal Texas position.
- Texas rig — With the head locked on, bury the point back into the body for a weedless finish and add a bullet sinker above. Pitch to cover, let it fall on a controlled line, shake it twice, then move on.
- Weightless soft jerkbait — Screw on a fluke or stick bait and twitch it on slack line so it darts side to side. This is where the screw earns its keep: a plain hook lets a jerkbait slip after a handful of twitches.
- Weedless swimbait — Rig a paddle-tail on the larger sizes and wind it steadily over weed and timber. The locked nose stops the body rolling out of line at speed.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) over lily pads and matted weed, peacock bass and hampala barb (sebarau) in reservoirs, and barramundi (siakap) on weedless swimbaits around mangroves.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on Texas rigs, weightless flukes and weedless swimbaits, plus pike and inshore redfish over grass flats.
- Japan & East Asia — Black bass in reservoirs and rivers, and rockfish game where a soft jerkbait must hold its shape through repeated casts into structure.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Barramundi, saratoga and Australian bass; pike, perch and zander on weedless soft plastics in European lakes and canals.
