The Invaders 50S is a compact heavy sinking minnow: 50 mm of body carrying 6.8 g, which is a lot of weight for the profile. That density is the point. It flies on the cast, punches into a headwind and gets down fast in current, so a small baitfish imitation can be presented at range on light tackle. The body is crafted to reproduce the swimming motion of a real minnow and can trigger predators from a distance, helped by realistic 3D eyes that flash on the turn. Because it sinks, pauses and drops become part of the retrieve rather than dead time. It is built on a premium ABS body with an integrated lip that holds the swimming action, and comes fitted with BKK Japan hooks for solid hook-ups on tough-lipped fish.

How To Fish It

• Twitch and pause — Two or three short rod-tip twitches, then stop and let the lure sink on a semi-slack line. Watch the line, because most bites land during the drop.
• Countdown to depth — Cast, count down before winding, and increase the count each cast until you contact fish. Useful over drop-offs and along jetty pilings.
• Upstream in current — Cast up and across a run, let the weight take the lure down, and retrieve just fast enough to keep it working as it swings through the seam.
• Headwind and distance casting — Use it when a light floating minnow will not reach. The compact mass keeps the cast flat and accurate under a jetty or into a mangrove pocket.

• Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) in rivers and reservoirs, snakehead (haruan) along weed edges, and mangrove jack, small barramundi (siakap) and needlefish around jetties and mangrove pockets.
