American Tackle Titanium Ring Casting Guide Lock 64NIRLC
This is the top of the 64 Ring Lock casting range: the same casting frame geometry as the chrome and black models, but fitted with a titanium ring, in 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm. Titanium is used in rod building for two reasons — it is light, so a full train adds little to the tip, and it resists the grooving that braided line eventually wears into softer ring materials. On rods that live on PE braid, that groove shreds a leader long before anything visibly breaks. The seat is American Tackle's patented Ring Lock (US Patent D627,032), a pressure-fit ring in an enlarged glue reservoir with increased contact area.

How To Build With It
- Spend it where the line works hardest — Most wear happens at the stripper and first reduction, where line changes angle under load. If the whole train is not going titanium, put the 20 mm and 16 mm here.
- Full titanium train — On a dedicated PE rod, run all six sizes: 20 or 16 mm stripper, 12 and 10 mm reduction, then 8 and 6 mm running guides to the tip.
- Check the knot, not the chart — Pull your actual FG or PR connection through the chosen stripper by hand. A knot that clicks on the way out will cost you a cast under load.
- Spacing — About one guide per foot of blank plus one, then static test under a hanging weight and shift the taped guides until the line follows the curve with no flat spot. Seal finished wraps with two thin epoxy coats.
