Yozuri "Crystal Ultra" Cloth Squid Jig 80 mm / 95 mm — A1546 / A1520

Crystal Ultra is the transparent-bodied member of the Ultra squid jig family. Instead of the opaque fabric used on the standard Ultra Cloth, the body is wrapped in a crystal-clear luminous cloth over an ABS resin core, so light passes into the jig and comes back out as flash rather than being absorbed by the wrap. The practical result is a jig that reads as a small, half-see-through prey item rather than a solid block — useful in clear water, on bright moonlit nights, and on daylight drops where an opaque body looks too obviously like an object. Both sizes are built as sutte, with no lead keel, and both carry the Y2 squid-specific crown.

How To Fish It

• Fish it when the opaque jigs get refused — In flat, clear water under a strong moon, squid inspect for longer. The half-transparent body gives them less to reject, so run this as your change-up jig after two or three follows without a commit.
• Slow lift and long hold — Drop to the working depth, lift through two or three turns of the handle, then stop and hold for a full ten count. The flash comes from the jig rocking on a static line, not from being worked hard.
• Charge the luminous cloth — Twenty to thirty seconds under a deck light or UV torch before each drop, and again whenever the glow dulls. The clear wrap charges fast but also fades fast.
• Wind, do not strike — A squid take feels like added weight. Load the rod and wind at one steady speed to the surface; a hard strike or a pumping retrieve pulls the crown out of soft tentacles.
• Where it sits in the Ultra range — Yo-Zuri publishes no sink figure for Crystal Ultra, and it behaves in the same band as the standard Ultra Cloth. Above it, the Ultra 3D Cloth, Ultra 3D Laser DX and the 5 g Ultra Bait all hang higher; below it, the Ultra DX is the model built to reach depth and hold in current.
