The Crystal Minnow Deep Diver is the long-lipped trolling and deep-casting member of Yo-Zuri's Crystal Minnow family. Where the standard Crystal Minnow works the first metre, this version carries a large polycarbonate lip that drives the bait well below the surface layer and holds it there under load — what you need behind a moving boat, or when fish have pulled off a shallow reef into cooler water. The action is a tight, high-frequency wiggle rather than a wide roll, so it stays true at trolling speed instead of blowing out. Inside is the patented internal prism finish, reflecting subsurface light from within the lure. Three sizes cover inshore mackerel through to offshore pelagics, and each size runs to its own depth band.

How To Fish It

• Flat-line trolling — Run 30–50 m of line at 3–5 knots along reef edges, current lines and drop-offs. More line out means more depth, so adjust the drop rather than the speed.
• Match size to depth — 90 mm over shallow reef and river mouths, 110 mm on the edges, 130 mm when the sounder shows bait sitting deep.
• Long cast and crank — From a jetty or rock wall, cast, wind hard for the first few metres to load the lip, then hold a steady retrieve.
• Bump and pause — Over gravel or sand, let the lip tick bottom, then pause. The floating body lifts clear and the change of direction draws the strike.

• Southeast Asia — Spanish mackerel (tenggiri), queenfish (talang), trevally and cobia trolled over shallow reef and around FADs; barramundi (siakap) and grouper worked deep off river mouths and rock walls.
• North America — Walleye trolled on the Great Lakes, striped bass and bluefish along the coast, and king mackerel, wahoo and dorado on inshore troll runs.
• Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) and hirame from boats, plus sawara and inada on shallow trolling passes.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Spanish mackerel, tuna and queenfish on the northern Australian and Gulf coasts; bonito, bluefish, pollack and bass around European headlands and reefs.

• 110 mm and 130 mm: medium-heavy trolling or spin rod rated 20–60 g, PE 2–3 braid, 40–60 lb leader
• Add a short 60–80 lb single-strand or knottable wire trace where mackerel and wahoo are present
• Check split rings and hook points before offshore trips; rinse in fresh water afterwards
