The Finesse WormZ is a straight, tapered finesse worm moulded in ElaZtech and impregnated with salt. Z-Man rates ElaZtech as 10X tougher than traditional plastic, and the material is buoyant enough that the tail stands up off the bottom at rest instead of lying flat in the silt — exactly what a finesse worm has to do when a fish is sitting still. The salt adds casting weight on light line and, per Z-Man, makes fish hold on longer. The 4" has a thin, tapered tail that quivers on the slightest movement, for drop shot and Ned-style work; the 7" carries a bulbous tail suited to shaky heads and Texas rigs. Made in the USA.

How To Fish It

• Drop shot — Nose-hook the 4" on a size 1–2 hook, 30–60 cm above a 1/8–3/8 oz weight. Keep the weight on the bottom and shake the rod tip in place so the tail quivers without dragging the worm away.
• Weightless wacky — Hook the 4" through the middle on a wacky hook or O-ring, no lead. Both ends fold and flutter on a slow horizontal fall — the answer when fish are shallow and pressured.
• Neko rig — Insert a nail weight in the head and wacky-hook the body. It lands nose-down and the buoyant tail waves upright as you shake it along the bottom.
• Shaky head, Ned and Texas — Thread the 7" onto a shaky head or behind a 1/8–3/8 oz bullet weight, or the 4" onto a mushroom finesse head, and drag it slowly over rock. The tail stands up on every pause.

• Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) and peacock bass drop-shotted along reservoir rock walls, giant snakehead (toman) wacky-rigged in shallow weed, barramundi (siakap) Texas-rigged at jetty pilings.
• North America — Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass on shaky heads, drop shot and Neko rigs over rock and deep points; crappie and perch on the 4"; walleye on a Carolina rig.
• Japan & East Asia — Largemouth bass (blackbass) on Lake Biwa and Kasumigaura, where the down shot and Neko rig are standard pressured-water tactics; rockfish on finesse heads.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass and golden perch in impoundments, estuary bream on a wacky rig; perch and zander on drop shot in European lakes and canals.

• Leader: 6–14 lb fluorocarbon, heavier around timber and rock
