Duel Hardcore Bay Shad 80mm F1160 Sinking Hardbody Lure
The Duel Hardcore Bay Shad 80mm is engineered for precision casting and highly realistic swimming action, which makes it a strong choice for inshore game fishing. It is built around Duel's Magnet Weight Transfer System: the internal weights shift to the rear during the cast for distance and accuracy, then lock forward the moment the retrieve begins so the lure holds a stable, lifelike posture instead of rolling. The compact body produces a tight wobble-roll that closely mimics natural baitfish behaviour, and it keeps that action in strong current or on a deliberately slow retrieve. That makes it particularly useful in cooler water and in pressured estuaries where fish are being selective. As a sinking lure running at 1.0–1.2m, it covers the band just under the surface layer that a floating minnow cannot reach.
Model & Size: F1160 / 80mm - 11.5g. Type: Sinking.
Key Features
- Sinking shad body, 80mm and 11.5g
- Magnet Weight Transfer System — weights move rearward on the cast, lock forward on the retrieve
- Diving depth of 1.0–1.2m on a standard retrieve
- Tight wobble-roll action that holds together in current and at slow speeds
- Compact profile matched to small inshore baitfish
- #6 treble hooks as supplied
- Seven colour patterns covering clear, stained and low-light water
How To Fish It
- Straight retrieve — Wind at a steady medium pace to hold the lure in its 1.0–1.2m band. Keep the rod tip low when casting from a high jetty or wall.
- Countdown — Let it sink on a controlled line for a set count before starting the retrieve, adding a second each cast to work progressively deeper water.
- Stop and go — Wind four or five turns, then pause and let the lure sink. The falling profile converts followers that will not commit to a straight retrieve.
- Swing through current — Cast up-current at a river mouth or bridge pylon, wind slowly, and let the flow swing the lure across the seam.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Barramundi (siakap), mangrove jack, queenfish and small trevally around river mouths, jetties and rock walls; hampala barb (sebarau) and peacock bass in reservoirs.
- North America — Striped bass, speckled trout, redfish and snook inshore, plus largemouth and smallmouth bass in reservoirs and tidal rivers.
- Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) shore casting from harbours and river mouths, plus hirame and kochi from sandy beaches.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Barramundi, bream, flathead and Australian salmon in estuaries; sea bass, pollack and pike in Europe; queenfish and small trevally along Gulf shorelines.
