BOSSNA - PRESSED SPLIT RING 7530 FISHING ACCESSORIES
Bossna Pressed Split Ring 7530
The Bossna 7530 is a pressed split ring — the double-coil ring that joins hooks, swivels and solid rings to a lure. Pressed, or forged, means the wire is flattened and worked to shape after coiling rather than simply wound from round wire, and two things follow. The flat cross-section resists being levered open, so a hard head-shake or a fish rolling in structure is far less likely to pull the coil apart. And the coils close tighter against each other, leaving a much smaller gap for PE braid or assist cord to creep into and jam — on round-wire rings that gap is where most failures start.
Key Features
- Pressed, flattened wire that resists opening under load
- Tightly wound double coil with a close-fitting gap that discourages PE line from creeping in
- High pulling strength under heavy tension and sudden impact
- Excellent shape recovery — opens for installation and springs back to form
- Nickel-plated finish; rounded profile that keeps hook movement free
- Suits assist hooks, trebles, jigs, hard lures, swivels and solid rings
How To Fit It
- Use split ring pliers, not a fingernail — The pointed pin on the plier nose goes into the gap and levers the coil open just enough. Prising a pressed ring with a nail or knife blade bends the coil out of plane and ruins it before it sees a fish.
- Walk the hook around — Open the ring, slip the hook eye onto the opened coil, then rotate the ring so the eye travels the whole way round. Release the pliers only once the eye has passed the gap.
- Check the gap has closed — Run a fingernail over the join. If you feel a step, the ring has been sprung; replace it rather than pinching it back.
- Match it to the weakest link — The ring should be at least as strong as the hook and the leader. On heavy jigs the standard pairing is a solid ring plus a split ring: the solid ring takes the line, the split ring carries the hook.
- Treat them as consumable — Change them when a coil has opened, when plating has worn through, or after a hard fight.

Construction: pressed double coil, steel. Finish: nickel plated. A larger size number is a larger, stronger ring.
Recommended Pairing
- Smaller sizes: light lures and light game trebles, 8–20 lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader
- Mid sizes: minnows, vibration lures and light jigs, 20–40 lb braid with a 30–60 lb leader
- Larger sizes: metal jigs, assist hook sets, stickbaits and poppers, 50 lb braid and above
- Use with the ball bearing swivels (7524 solid ring, 7525 cross lock) so the load path stays closed hardware throughout
- Carry split ring pliers — these are too tight to open cleanly by hand
