Bossna Crane Swivel with C Lock 7521 Black
The Bossna 7521 is the security option in this family. It pairs a crane swivel — which keeps rotating under moderate load where a plain barrel bind — with a heavy-duty C-lock snap whose tag wire sits captured inside a formed C. That geometry has to be unhooked deliberately, so a hard head-shake or a lure dragged through timber is far less likely to spring it. A matte-black nickel finish keeps glare down and adds surface protection.
Key Features
- Smooth crane swivel rotation that minimises line twist
- Strong C-lock snap for a secure connection to lures and rigs
- Secure locking design that resists accidental opening under tension
- Matte-black nickel finish, low glare with added surface protection
- Suits minnows, pencils, spoons, vibration lures, jigs and frogs
Which Connection Mechanism
- C lock (7521, this model) — the most positive lock here. Slowest of the snaps to change and slightly bulkier: that is the trade for a connection that will not be levered open in structure.
- New strong snap (7523) — the other heavy-duty choice, and the only one running from #10 up to #3/0.
- V snap (7518) — load tends to close the V rather than open it: quicker and slimmer, a little less positive.
- Danish snap (7510) — open-hook, fastest one-handed, and the easiest to lever open against timber.
- Quick line connector (7526) — no snap, no knot: a leader loop drops over an open connector under a sliding sleeve.
- Plain rolling swivel (7516) — no snap; retie every change, but nothing can spring open.
- Picking one — giant snakehead (toman), mangrove roots and snag-heavy water: this 7521. Frequent lure swaps in open water: 7510 or 7518.
How To Rig It
- Main line to leader — Palomar from braid to the swivel eye, improved clinch on mono or fluorocarbon. Wet before seating.
- Snap to lure — Clip to the split ring, not the bare wire eye, and confirm the tag is fully seated inside the C after every change.
- Matching size to line — Bigger number means smaller: #8 lightest, #3/0 heaviest. Match line class and lure weight, not the fish you hope for.
- The weakest link — Undersized, the snap fails before the leader. In toman and mangrove work step up a size rather than trusting the lock alone.
- After saltwater — Rinse in fresh water and dry. Replace any unit whose swivel binds or whose C has opened out.
