BOSSNA - V SNAP 7518 FISHING ACCESSORIES
Bossna V Snap 7518
The Bossna 7518 is a snap on its own — no swivel body — so it is the lightest, lowest-profile connection in this family. The reinforced V-shaped wire spreads pulling pressure across the bend rather than the hook end, and load tends to seat the snap shut rather than spring it open. Strong steel with a black nickel coating gives corrosion resistance and a low-glare look. Use it alone at the leader-to-lure junction, or above a rolling swivel when the lure also generates twist.
Key Features
- Reinforced V-shaped design — strength in a compact, low-profile body
- Secure locking mechanism that resists accidental opening under tension
- Strong steel with a black nickel coating for corrosion resistance
- Smooth rounded wire that reduces abrasion on lure eyes
- Suits minnows, spoons, metal jigs and vibration lures
Which Connection Mechanism
- V snap (7518, this model) — the balanced choice. Load tends to close the V rather than open it, so it locks better than an open-hook snap while staying slimmer than a C lock. No swivel, so it adds almost nothing at the lure.
- Danish snap (7510) — open-hook, fastest one-handed, but the easiest to lever open against timber.
- C lock (7521) — tag wire captured in a formed C, unhooked deliberately. The most positive lock, on a crane swivel.
- New strong snap (7523) — the reinforced pattern, and the only one running from #10 up to #3/0.
- Quick line connector (7526) — no snap, no knot: a leader loop drops over an open connector under a sliding sleeve.
- Plain rolling swivel (7516) — no snap; retie every change, but nothing can spring open.
- Picking one — toman and mangrove roots: C lock or new strong snap. Shore casting with constant lure swaps: this 7518, or the 7510 if speed matters more than lock.
How To Rig It
- Leader to snap — Improved clinch on mono and fluorocarbon, Palomar for braid direct. Wet the knot and seat it slowly.
- Snap to lure — Clip to the split ring, not the bare wire eye, and press the V fully home after every change.
- Adding a swivel — On blades, rotating baits or trolled lures, run a rolling swivel a rod length up the leader; a snap alone does not stop twist.
- The weakest link — Sized down to keep a small lure honest, the snap fails first. Step up a size before you step up leader.
- After saltwater — Rinse in fresh water and dry. Discard any snap that no longer closes flush.
