Bossna Rolling Swivel with Italian Snap 7513 Black
The Bossna 7513 uses the Italian snap — a long, narrow wire opening that closes back on itself, giving the slimmest and least conspicuous profile of any snap in this family. That matters in clear water and on small hard lures, where a bulky snap sits badly in the lure eye and kills the action. Behind it the rolling-swivel barrel sheds line twist. Black nickel finish, five sizes from #8 to #1/0.
Key Features
- 360° rolling-swivel action that reduces line twist, tangling and unwanted rig movement
- Quick-change Italian snap — slim, elongated form with a low visual footprint
- Strength ratings from 18 lb to 110 lb across the size range
- Black nickel finish, low reflection with added corrosion protection
- Suits hard lures, soft-plastic rigs, jigs, leaders and general terminal tackle
Which Connection Mechanism
- Italian snap (7513, this model) — between speed and security. The narrow opening is quick enough for regular lure changes but takes a deliberate movement to release, and its slim shape is the reason to choose it: minimum bulk and minimum flash where fish look hard at the connection.
- Quick snap (7515) — fastest to change, easiest to lever open against timber.
- "B" snap (7517) — also quick, but the lowest limit here.
- HD jig snap (7512) — the strongest opening here, sized for metal jigs.
- Safety snap (7514) — safety-pin style; a retaining bend means two movements to release.
- Coastlock (7511) — the security end, and the most positive lock here.
- Picking one — this 7513 is the clear-water and finesse choice: pressured reservoir fish, low clear rivers, small minnows and light jig heads. In mangrove or on giant snakehead (toman) take the 7511 or 7514; for metal jigs take the 7512.
How To Rig It
- Main line to leader — Palomar from braid to the swivel eye, improved clinch on mono or fluorocarbon; wet before seating.
- Snap to lure — Clip to the split ring, not the bare wire eye, and check the wire has returned fully closed after every change.
- Matching size to line — Bigger number means smaller: #8 lightest, #1/0 heaviest. Match line class and lure weight, not the fish you hope for.
- The weakest link — A slim snap is easy to under-size for the sake of presentation. If leader and hooks outrate it, the snap straightens first; step it up.
- After saltwater — Rinse in fresh water and dry; replace any unit whose swivel binds or no longer closes flush.
