Santec Fish Spear Head — Round Shape / Flat Shape 8104 / 8106 / 8107

The Santec Fish Spear Head series is a set of replaceable spear tips for anglers who fish shallow water with a pole spear. Each head is black-finished metal with sharply pointed tines and small rear-facing barbs behind the points, so a fish that is struck is less likely to slide back off the tine. Heads are supplied on their own and fit a compatible pole, so a bent or blunted head can be swapped instead of replacing the whole spear. Two choices matter: prong count and socket shape. Prong count trades precision against coverage — one prong concentrates everything on a single point, four and five widen the strike area for fish that are moving. Round and flat refer to the mounting body: the 8104 round series uses a cylindrical socket, the 8106 and 8107 flat series a flattened socket. Match the socket to the pole you own.

Safety and legality — Spearfishing is restricted or prohibited in many countries, states and inland waters, and rules differ by water body, species and season. Check and follow the regulations that apply where you fish before using this product. Treat the head as a sharp tool: keep it capped in transit, never point it at another person, and only strike when you can see what is behind the target.

Key Features

  • Replaceable spear head — fits a compatible pole, no need to replace the whole spear
  • Sharp pointed metal tines for quick penetration
  • Small rear-facing barbs help retain the catch
  • Prong counts from 1 to 5 across the range
  • Round socket (8104) and flat socket (8106 / 8107) mounting bodies
  • Black-finished metal construction

How To Rig It

  • Fit the head correctly — Only mount the head on a pole whose socket dimensions match and whose fixing holds it positively. A head that works loose under load is dangerous.
  • Single prong (81061) — The narrowest, most concentrated strike point — for a deliberate aimed thrust at a stationary fish in clear water.
  • Two and three prongs — The general-purpose choice; three prongs is the usual starting point.
  • Four and five prongs — The widest contact area, for close-range work on moving fish or in stained water where aim is less exact.
  • Maintenance — Rinse in fresh water, dry fully, touch up dull points with a fine file, and check the tines for bending after each use.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Shallow rivers, paddy channels, ponds and mangrove flats for catfish, eel, mudfish and tilapia, where water is knee-deep and clear enough to see the fish.
  • North America — Where permitted, shallow-water take of carp, gar and other rough fish in warm-water rivers and backwaters; regulated state by state.
  • Japan & East Asia — Shallow-water and reef-flat use in coastal areas; several regions restrict spear gear tightly, so local rules govern.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Reef and flats use where spearfishing is allowed and licensed; many European inland waters prohibit it entirely, so check before carrying it to the water.
