Santec D-16 Double Bell x 2pcs Fishing Accessories

The Santec D-16 Double Bell is a mechanical bite alarm for anglers fishing stationary bait who cannot watch every rod tip at once. A metal clamp grips the blank near the tip and carries two bells on flexible spring stems. When a fish moves the bait the tip twitches, the stems pass that movement upward, and both bells ring together. Two bells are louder than one and carry further, which matters when you sit back from the rods or when wind masks sound. Nothing to charge and no circuit to fail; rinse and dry it after a session and the metal body keeps its finish. Two pieces per pack covers two rods.

Key Features

  • Two metal bells for a clear, carrying bite alert
  • Flexible spring stems respond to small rod-tip movement
  • Clips on and off in seconds
  • Fully mechanical: no batteries or wiring
  • Corrosion-resistant metal build for fresh and salt water

How To Fish It

  • Multi-rod bank fishing — Clip one alarm per rod, rest the rods with a slight bend in the tip, then wind up slack until the line is just tight. Slack line lets a fish move without reaching the bells.
  • Telling one rod from another — Doubles ring with a fuller, louder note than singles. Mixing doubles and singles across your rods gives each one its own voice, so you know which to reach for.
  • Managing false alarms — In wind, current or boat wash the tip nods on its own. Slide the clamp onto a stiffer part of the blank, or leave a longer bow in the line, so only a real pull rings it.
  • Night sessions with a head torch — Keep the torch off the water. When the bells ring, look at the rod tip first and switch the light on second, so your night vision holds.
  • Reading the ring before you strike — One chime is usually the bait settling or a small fish nudging. Wait until the tip loads and stays bent, or the ringing runs continuous, then lift.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Overnight sessions at commercial ponds (kolam pancing) and reservoir banks, watching several rods for walking catfish (keli), patin, tilapia and carp.
  • North America — Bank and jetty catfishing with rods in holders, plus carp and bullhead on still waters, where bells remain a common alternative to electronic alarms.
  • Japan & East Asia — Rod bells (suzu) on surf rods in nagezuri sessions and on breakwater rods set for black seabream (kurodai) after dark.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Beach and estuary rods for bream, whiting and mulloway; river and canal rods in Europe; Gulf shore rods soaking cut bait at night.
