Luresfactory MF Bumpy Frog Walk 4.8cm / 6cm, 7g / 10g Soft Frog

The MF Bumpy Frog Walk is a floating soft-body frog built for shallow water, grass, weed beds and the other places freshwater predators use as ambush cover. The streamlined body gives a compact, natural-looking profile, and the bumpy moulded skin breaks up light instead of reflecting it the way a painted hard body does. What separates it from the rest of the Megafrox frog range is the metal spinner blade mounted under the rear of the lure: as the frog is retrieved the blade rotates, adding flash, vibration and a second source of water disturbance behind the silhouette. That extra signal matters in stained water, under floating vegetation and in low light, where a silent frog can pass over a fish without being noticed. The double hooks sit close along the body, so the lure travels around light vegetation with far less exposure than a treble-hooked lure — no lure is completely snag-free. Two sizes are offered: 4.8cm at 7g for precise casting into narrow openings, and 6cm at 10g for a larger presentation and more casting weight in wind.

Key Features

  • Soft plastic frog body that compresses on the bite so the hook points come clear
  • Rear metal spinner blade for flash, vibration and added water movement
  • Body-hugging double-hook configuration for fishing around light cover
  • Streamlined, pointed profile that slides through grass and weed
  • Two sizes: 4.8cm / 7g for tight water, 6cm / 10g for distance and profile
  • Seven colour patterns, 01 to 07
  • Works on steady, twitching and stop-and-go retrieves

How To Fish It

  • Steady wind to keep the blade turning — A constant moderate retrieve is enough to spin the rear blade continuously. Keep the rod tip low and the speed even; the blade stalls if you slow down too far.
  • Twitch and pause over cover — Add short rod-tip taps to make the frog kick sideways, then pause. The blade still flutters as the lure settles, which holds a following fish in the strike zone.
  • Squeeze the body between casts — A soft frog worked hard takes on water through the hook slots. Squeeze it out before the next cast so the lure keeps its buoyancy and the body still collapses properly on the bite.
  • Let the fish take it, then set — Because the body is soft it folds around the hooks under a strike. Do not swing at the splash. Wait until you feel the fish load the rod, then sweep hard and low to drive the points home.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Striped snakehead (haruan) in paddy drains and canals, giant snakehead (toman) along reservoir weed edges and drowned timber, peacock bass in lily pockets, hampala barb (sebarau) on shallow river margins.
  • North America — Largemouth bass over pads, duckweed and grass lines; chain pickerel and bowfin in backwaters; northern snakehead in tidal creeks.
  • Japan & East Asia — Snakehead (raigyo) on matted cover and its edges, bass in shallow reservoir weed, catfish (namazu) at dusk in canals and irrigation channels.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Saratoga and sooty grunter in lily-covered billabongs and creek pools; pike and perch over shallow weed in European lakes and canals.

Recommended Pairing

  • 4.8cm / 7g: medium to medium-heavy casting or spinning rod, 20–30 lb braid, for canals, drains and tight pockets
  • 6cm / 10g: medium-heavy casting rod with the backbone to lift fish out of cover, 30–50 lb braid
