Hinotsu WH-1 Worm Hook Ringed NSB 4788

The WH-1 is the long-shank member of Hinotsu's worm hook range. Behind the eye sits a precision 95° bend, and that crank locks the head of a soft plastic in place so it cannot slide down the shank on the cast or after a missed strike. A forged body resists opening under pressure, and the straight Eagle Cutting point aligns pulling force with the eye so the hookset drives rather than levers. The ringed eye holds a knot securely under a low-glare tinted finish.

In the four-model WH range this is the one that does not go small: #1/0 to #5/0 only, five per pack, built around full-size worms and creature baits. For smaller plastics see the WH-2 (down to #6) or the WH-3 and WH-4 (down to #2).

Key Features

  • Long-shank profile for full-length worms and stick baits
  • Precision 95° bend that seats the bait head and keeps hook alignment
  • Forged construction, reinforced against bending under load
  • Straight Eagle Cutting point — angled edges for fast penetration
  • Ringed eye: stronger than a folded eye, takes a snap directly, and will not cut a fine leader
  • Barbed point; tinted black-nickel (NSB) finish for low glare and corrosion resistance

How To Rig It

  • Texas rig, weedless — Slide a bullet sinker on and tie the hook direct. Enter the nose of the worm, exit a centimetre down, slide the plastic over the 95° bend until the head seats at the eye, rotate the hook 180°, lay it back along the body and bury the point just under the skin so it passes weed and timber clean.
  • Setting a buried point — The point must pass through the plastic first: wind down until the line is tight, then strike hard and low, sweeping sideways rather than lifting.
  • Weightless — The long shank lets a stick worm fall flat. Cast to shade, sink on a controlled line, twitch twice and pause; most takes come on the drop.
  • Size to bait — Start at #1/0–#2/0 for 3–4in worms, #3/0 for 4–5in, #4/0–#5/0 for 6in worms and creature baits. If the bait bunches, go up a size.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) and haruan over floating weed, sebarau and peacock bass in reservoirs, barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack in mangrove roots on larger sizes.
  • North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on Texas-rigged worms; redfish and speckled trout weedless over grass flats.
  • Japan & East Asia — Black bass in pressured reservoirs and canals, and larger rockfish where a buried point avoids snagging.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Barramundi and Australian bass in snag-filled rivers; pike, perch and zander on weedless plastics in European lakes and canals.
