Yozuri Crystal 3D Minnow 130mm F981 Sinking Casting Lure

This is the single-size, 130 mm sinking Crystal 3D Minnow — a long-casting shore and light-boat bait rather than a trolling lure. At 26 g it is heavy for its length, which is the whole point: it flies on a headwind cast, holds its line in a running tide, and drops into the strike zone quickly instead of skating on the surface film. The short lip gives an erratic side-to-side dart on the retrieve and a nose-down flutter on the pause, so a lure that has just been twitched looks exactly like a baitfish that has lost its nerve. The internal 3D prism finish throws light from inside the body, the rattle chamber adds sound in coloured water, and the hardware is saltwater grade throughout.

Key Features

  • Patented internal 3D prism finish that reflects light from within the body
  • Heavy 26 g sinking body for long casts and depth control in current
  • Erratic darting action with a nose-down flutter on the drop
  • Rattle chamber for extra sound in stained or moving water
  • Detailed baitfish profile with 3D eyes and moulded gill plates
  • Tough resin construction built for repeated strikes in salt water
  • Saltwater-grade treble hooks and stainless steel split rings
  • Five colours covering natural, high-contrast and holographic patterns

How To Fish It

  • Count down and wind — Cast, count the lure down to the level fish are holding, then retrieve at a steady medium pace. Add a second to the count each cast until you connect.
  • Twitch and drop — Two or three sharp twitches then a one- to two-second pause. The lure darts off line and flutters down; watch the line, because takes come on the drop.
  • Fish the tide — From a breakwater or river mouth, cast up-current and let the lure swing across on a tight line. The weight keeps it working where a floating minnow skates out.
  • Search the surf and ledges — Fan casts from beaches and rock platforms, varying the count so you cover the trough, the bar and the wash before moving on.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Queenfish (talang), trevally and barracuda off rock walls and jetty lights, Spanish mackerel (tenggiri) over shallow reef with a wire trace, and barramundi (siakap) at river mouths on the run-out.
  • North America — Striped bass, bluefish and false albacore from the surf and jetties, plus snook, jack crevalle and tarpon on inshore beaches and passes.
  • Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) and hirasuzuki from breakwaters and rocky shores, plus inada and sawara on shore casting sessions when small bait is being pushed in.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Tailor, giant herring and school mackerel; queenfish and small GT on Gulf shorelines; sea bass, bonito and bluefish around European headlands.
