Yozuri 3DS Minnow Suspending 70mm F962 Fishing Lure

The Yo-Zuri 3DS Minnow 70SP is a compact suspending jerkbait built around a flat, diamond-shaped lip that keeps it tracking straight in current instead of blowing out. On a straight wind it produces a tight, rolling wiggle; on a twitch-pause retrieve it darts off line and then hangs dead still in the water column, which is where most strikes come from. At 70 mm and 7 g it matches small baitfish for bass, trout, perch, snook and other light gamefish, and runs shallow enough for rivers, lake edges and inshore flats. Supplied as genuine Yo-Zuri stock in colours HHPB and HOK.

How To Fish It

• Twitch, twitch, pause — Two sharp downward taps of the rod tip, then stop for two to four seconds. The lure hangs level in front of the fish; take up slack slowly, because the take is usually on the pause.
• Straight retrieve along structure — Wind at a steady medium pace parallel to weed lines, rock walls and jetty pilings so the wiggle stays constant and the lure ticks the edge of cover.
• Cold or pressured water — Lengthen the pause to five or six seconds and reduce the twitch to a single soft tap. Suspending baits earn their keep when fish will not chase.
• Current seams — Cast up-current in rivers and river mouths and let the lure swing across the seam on a tight line. Fish sit on the slower side and intercept it as it crosses.

• Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) and peacock bass in reservoirs and rivers, small giant snakehead (toman) on weed edges, plus barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack (jenahak) around jetty lights and mangrove drains.
• North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye and white bass in freshwater; snook, speckled trout, small redfish and schoolie striped bass inshore.
• Japan & East Asia — Black bass on reservoir jerkbait sessions, small seabass (suzuki) at river mouths, and rockfish such as mebaru and kasago on light game tackle.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, bream and estuary flathead; perch, zander and chub in European rivers and canals; small queenfish and juvenile trevally on Gulf flats.

Recommended Pairing

• Light to medium-light spinning or baitcasting rod, 6'2"–7'0", rated around 5–15 g
• PE 0.6–1.0 braid with a 10–16 lb fluorocarbon leader, or 8–12 lb straight fluorocarbon in clear freshwater
• Add a short 30 lb bite trace where mangrove jack, barracuda or small mackerel are present
• Rinse the hardware in fresh water after salt water use and check split rings before each trip
