DECOY - KR-26 MINI-WORM HOOK MADE IN JAPAN
Decoy KR-26 Mini-Worm Hook — Red, Made In Japan
The KR-26 is the smallest bait pattern in Decoy's KR series, the Katsuichi light-game singles made for finesse presentations rather than lure or jigging work. It is a compact worm-style single built for small-profile natural baits. The mini-worm shape keeps a short piece of worm or a single maggot aligned on the shank so the bait sits naturally, and the fine point turns in on the light, tentative bites of small-mouthed species. The balanced bend preserves what movement a tiny bait has instead of anchoring it. Three sizes are listed — #12, #14 and #16 — micro-bait territory, the range used for canal, harbour and pond fishing where the fish are small and the water is clear.
Key Features

- Corrosion-resistant construction for fresh and salt water
- Red finish
- Made in Japan by Katsuichi
How To Rig It
- Short worm section — Cut a 1–2 cm piece of sandworm or bloodworm and thread it onto the shank, leaving a short tail free. On a hook this size, less bait fishes better than more.
- Float rig in harbours and canals — Set a small pencil or bubble float so the bait hangs just above the bottom, and let it drift with the current along a wall or pontoon. Strike on any hesitation in the float.
- Micro drop shot — Tie the hook 15–30 cm above a 1–3 g sinker and nose-hook a tiny bait or micro soft plastic. Shake the tip without moving the weight to hold the bait in the strike zone.
- Playing fish on small hooks — Use a soft-tipped rod and a light drag. A small gape levers out easily if you pump hard, so keep pressure smooth all the way to the net.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Small mullet, ponyfish, glassfish and juvenile grunter around jetties and drains, plus tilapia and small barb species in freshwater ponds.
- North America — Bluegill, crappie, perch, small sunfish and shiners in ponds and lakes, plus pinfish and croaker on inshore flats.
- Japan & East Asia — Haze (goby), small kisu, tanago and wakasagi in fresh water, and small aji and mebaru fished on bait around harbour lights.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Small bream, whiting and garfish in Australian estuaries; roach, rudd and perch on European canals and lakes; picarel and small sea bream in the Mediterranean.
