The 64TTRLA is the saltwater-focused A frame in the Ring Lock range: a TICH nano ring carried in a 316 stainless frame. The A frame geometry is the point of it — two feet angling up to meet at a single apex, so the ring is held in a triangle rather than cantilevered off one leg. That shape takes lateral load without folding, and because the feet are wrapped some distance apart, the stress a big fish puts into the blank is spread across two points instead of one. The frame material matters just as much here: 316 is the marine grade of stainless, chosen where chloride pitting is the real enemy, and it is the most salt-resistant frame in this A frame group. Ring Lock is the patented seat (US Patent D627,032), a pressure-fit ring in an enlarged glue reservoir.

How To Build With It

  • Pick this one for salt exposure — If the rod lives in a boat, on a jetty, or in a tube that never fully dries, the 316 frame is the reason to choose it over the chrome-frame A frames.
  • Foot preparation — Both feet want a long, thin file taper so thread ramps on without a step. Check the guide sits flat with no rock before wrapping, and wrap each foot on its own.
  • Stripper sizing by knot — Tie the FG or PR connection you actually fish and pull it through a 25 mm and a 20 mm ring by hand. Whichever passes silently is your stripper.
  • Static test, then seal — Hang a weight from the tip and slide the taped guides until the line traces the curve with no flat spot. Finish with two thin coats of epoxy.
