American Tackle Nanolite TICH Ring, TICH Frame, Single Foot Fly Guide 64TTRLF
This is the fully matched member of the 64 Ring Lock fly trio: a single-foot fly guide where the Nanolite ring and the frame both carry the TICH titanium-tone finish, offered in 6, 8 and 10 mm. That is the one real difference between it and the 64NTRLF — there the TICH treatment is on the frame only, here ring and frame read as one piece. Underneath is the same Ring Lock seat American Tackle patented (US Patent D627,032): a pressure-fit ring held in an enlarged glue reservoir with extra contact area, so it is trapped mechanically rather than by adhesive alone. Single foot plus a light ring keeps mass low along the whole blank.
Key Features
- Single-foot frame — one wrap, one foot, least added weight per station
- Nanolite ring in the TICH finish, matched to the TICH frame
- Ring Lock pressure-fit ring seat with enlarged glue reservoir (US Patent D627,032)
- Three ring sizes: 6, 8 and 10 mm
- Model 64TTRLF, SKUs coded by ring size
How To Build With It
- Set the foot to the blank first — A single foot must sit flush on a curved surface. Check the foot against the blank at its station and adjust the ramp with a file before wrapping; a foot that rocks will lift a wrap later.
- Build the whole train in one finish — Because ring and frame match, a full 6/8/10 mm train reads as a set. Mixing in a bright chrome tip top undoes that, so size the tip top to the last 6 mm guide and match its tone.
- Weight-forward lines — Saltwater and heavier weight-forward heads shoot a lot of running line fast. Keep 10 mm rings low on the blank so the head clears without slapping frames, and reserve 6 mm for the tip section.
- Handle single-foot guides gently — They take side impact less well than a two-foot frame. Wrap fully to the toe, seal with two thin epoxy coats, and store the rod in a tube.
