Santec Tube Bom Spring With EVA Float 39082 Mata Bom Float
The Santec Tube Bom Spring with EVA Float is a bait feeder built around a buoyant EVA core wrapped in a metal spiral spring. Ground bait, dough or softened pellet mixture is pressed around and between the coils; the spring holds it together through handling and the cast, and water breaks the mixture down once the rig settles. The reason this version exists is the float: the EVA core gives the feeder slight buoyancy so it stays lifted off the bottom instead of sinking into it. Over soft mud, silt or weed — exactly the bottom you find in most pay ponds — a plain spring buries itself and the bait stops working. This one sits above that layer and holds the spring in a stable horizontal position, which keeps the hooks presented where the fish are feeding.
Key Features
- EVA foam core provides buoyancy so the bait sits clear of soft bottom
- Holds the spring horizontal for better presentation
- Spiral spring grips mouldable bait securely during the cast
- Bait disperses gradually into a feeding zone around the hooks
- Five sizes from 2.5CM to 6.0CM for light to heavy bait loads
- Bright assorted colours make sizes easy to identify
- Reusable after washing
How To Fish It
- Use it where the bottom is soft — Silt, mud and weed swallow an unweighted spring. This is the version for those swims, and anywhere fish feed just off bottom.
- Get the mix right — Add water slowly until the bait holds when squeezed but still crumbles. Too wet and it slips off in the air; too dry and it never opens up.
- Pack and cast smoothly — Press the bait hard into the coils, mould the outside smooth, and cast with a loaded stroke rather than a hard snap.
- Sinker below, feeder above — Set the sinker below the feeder so the float lifts the bait ball clear while the lead anchors the rig. Keep droppers to roughly 3–6 cm; the hooks sit in the bait or hang beside it.
- Build then hold — Three or four loaded casts to one spot before you fish it, reloading every 10–20 minutes until fish move in.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Made for silty kolam pancing in Malaysia and Indonesia: catfish (keli), carp (ikan kap), patin and tilapia (talapia), plus muddy river mouths for threadfin (senangin) and bream.
- North America — A floating coil-spring rig for catfish and carp over silt in reservoirs and slow river backwaters.
- Japan & East Asia — The lifted-bait idea behind dango-zuri and Kishu-style fishing for carp (koi), crucian carp (herabuna) and black seabream (chinu).
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — The same job a buoyant method feeder does for European carp and bream on silty lakebeds; also tilapia in Gulf ponds.
