YOZURI - SQUID JIG "ULTRA" CLOTH 70mm/90mm/95mm A1872/A327/A329 SQUID HOOK SQUID FISHING
Yozuri Squid Jig "Ultra" Cloth 70 mm / 90 mm / 95 mm — A1872 / A327 / A329
The Ultra Cloth is the long-running cloth-wrapped model in Yo-Zuri's Ultra squid jig family, and the three models here all carry the same M2 crown. This is a sutte-type jig rather than an egi: there is no lead keel under the belly, so the body sits close to neutral, hangs level and drifts with the tide instead of darting and diving. That is what you want on a dropper rig under a boat light, or on a slow presentation to squid that keep following and letting go. The fabric wrap gives a high-friction surface squid hold for the extra second it takes to load the rod, and the swivel-fitted eye keeps the branch line from twisting.
Key Features
- Three models on one page: A1872 at 70 mm, A327 at 90 mm and A329 at 95 mm
- All three use the M2 crown — Yo-Zuri's rounded two-stage hook arrangement
- Cloth-wrapped luminous body that holds glow; charge it under a deck light or UV torch before each drop
- Swivel-fitted eye to stop line twist on branch and dropper rigs
- Colours span the clear (CL), luminous (L) and pearl (P) code families
- Stainless crown hooks for corrosion resistance in salt water
How To Fish It
- Branch rig under the boat light — Run one or two above a sinker or a lead sutte, drop to the depth showing squid, lift through two or three slow winds and hold dead still for five to ten seconds. Nearly every take comes during the hold.
- Match the size to the squid, not the depth — 70 mm is the small-squid and pressured-water size, and keeps working when a bigger jig is followed but refused. 90 mm and 95 mm are the everyday sizes for better fish and coloured water.
- Read the weight, do not strike — A squid grabs with its arms, so the take feels like the rig gained weight or the tip fails to spring back. Lean into it and wind at one steady speed; pumping tears tentacles.
- Where it sits in the Ultra range — This is the mid-band model for fall speed. The Ultra 3D Cloth and Ultra 3D Laser DX hang slower again, while the Ultra DX is the one to reach for when you need to get down and hold in current.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Sotong torak (bigfin reef squid) and sotong katak (cuttlefish) on night candat sotong trips off Terengganu, Johor and the Riau islands, worked on multi-hook droppers under the boat lights.
- North America — Market squid off Pacific piers and lit moorings, jigged down the pilings after dark for the table or for fresh bait.
- Japan & East Asia — Kensaki-ika and yariika on boat sutte rigs and ikametal droppers, with surume-ika on the larger sizes; the same jigs are used in Korea and Taiwan.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Southern calamari and arrow squid from deep jetties and boats in South Australia and Tasmania; European squid and cuttlefish on Mediterranean and Atlantic night marks.

- On a dropper, run these above a lead sutte or sinker with the branches about a metre apart
