Yozuri Crystal 3D Minnow Sinking 110mm / 130mm 16g / 26g F1149 / F1150 Casting Lure

The Crystal 3D Minnow Sinking is the casting version of Yo-Zuri's Crystal 3D family. Unlike the Deep Diver, it has a short lip and a weighted body: it sinks on the pause, casts a long way, and swims with an erratic side-to-side action in the top two metres. That makes it a shore and light-boat lure — breakwaters, river mouths, beaches, reef flats and jetty lights — rather than a heavy trolling bait. The patented 3D internal prism finish reflects light from inside the body and the rattle chamber adds sound in stained or moving water, over saltwater-grade tin trebles and stainless split rings.

How To Fish It

• Count down and wind — Cast, count the lure down to the depth holding fish, then retrieve at a steady medium pace so the action stays constant. Add a second to the count each cast until you find them.
• Twitch and drop — Two or three sharp twitches then a pause of one to two seconds. The lure darts off line then flutters down; most takes come on the drop, so watch the line.
• Cast into current — From a breakwater or river mouth, cast up-current and let the lure swing across on a tight line. The sinking body keeps contact where a floating minnow would skate out.
• Long-cast searching — From beaches and rock ledges, fan casts across the arc and vary the count, covering the trough and the outer bar before moving on.

• Southeast Asia — Barramundi (siakap), mangrove jack (jenahak), queenfish (talang) and trevally around jetties, rock walls and river mouths; Spanish mackerel (tenggiri) over shallow reef with a wire trace.
• North America — Striped bass, bluefish and false albacore from the surf and jetties; snook, redfish and speckled trout inshore; walleye in freshwater.
• Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) shore casting at river mouths, plus hirame and flathead from sandy beaches.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Barramundi, giant herring and tailor; queenfish and small GT on Gulf coasts; sea bass, pollack and bonito across Europe.

Recommended Pairing

• Medium to medium-heavy spinning rod, 8'–9'6" for shore or 7' from a boat, rated around 10–40 g
• PE 1.2–2.0 braid with a 25–40 lb fluorocarbon or hard mono leader
• Add a short 40–60 lb bite trace where mackerel, barracuda or mangrove jack are present
• Rinse the hardware in fresh water after saltwater use and check split rings before each trip
