Santec Sabiki Toppu 4426 UV Effect Fish Skin Luminous Apollo SW (6 Hooks Per Set)

The Sabiki Apollo lure set is crafted with special fish skin and combines a UV effect with a luminous bead to increase visibility in low light and for night fishing. The 4426 Toppu carries six droppers, each a strip of premium fish skin above a sharpened hook, with an oval luminous bead at the head of the dressing.

The skin is why you pick this string over a thread rig. A cut strip is thin, part translucent and never quite flat, so it returns light from any angle, and it collapses the moment the rig stops — closer to a stalled whitebait than a stiff synthetic fibre. The two light systems behind it do different jobs. The UV finish emits nothing; it reflects ultraviolet already present in daylight, and UV carries further down the water column than red or orange, so the skin still reads bright at depth, under cloud and in stained water. The bead is the reverse: charge it with light and it returns that light as its own green glow, which is what earns its place after dark. One is a mirror, the other a battery.

How To Fish It

Give the skin a pause — Skin works on the stop, not the lift. Raise the tip 20–30 cm, drop it back, then hold still two or three seconds and let the strips fold and hang. Most takes land in that pause.
Charge the beads, not the skin — Twenty seconds of torchlight before each drop is enough; the UV element needs no charging and never fades.
Find the band — Hang a cage of mashed shrimp or krill below to hold the string vertical, count the rig down, work one depth for a dozen lifts, then drop to the next.
Wind, do not strike — Bites are a run of small tremors, not one knock. Keep winding, swing a loaded string in rather than lifting it clear, and unhook from the bottom dropper up.
