Santec Sabiki Stalker 4425 UV Special Aurora Thread Apollo SW (6 Hooks Per Set)

The Sabiki Apollo lure set is crafted with special aurora thread combined with a UV effect for low light and night fishing. Santec's feature list also states luminous fish skin, glow in the dark and an oval luminous bead. A sabiki (サビキ) is a Japanese bait rig: one trace, a row of short droppers with a dressed hook on each, and a bait cage or sinker below.

The Stalker is the loaded rig of the range: flash, self-emitting glow and a UV finish on one string. Aurora thread twists constantly and throws short, fast bursts of light. Luminous skin is charged under a torch and emits its own green glow. The UV effect produces no light — it reflects the ultraviolet already in daylight, which penetrates deeper than visible colour. Between them the three cover daylight at depth, dusk and full dark.

How To Fish It

• Charge before dark — Hold a torch on the skins and beads for 20–30 seconds before each drop. The aurora and UV elements need no charging; the glow does.
• Set up and chum — Clip the top swivel to your line, hang a bait cage below to hold the string vertical, lower it to the school, then shake the rod to spread mashed shrimp or krill.
• Short jigging — Lift the tip 20–40 cm and lower it, repeatedly. The thread flickers and the skins flutter on each drop; that draws the strike.
• Fish it through the light change — Start on flash in daylight and let the glow take over at dusk without changing rigs. At a lit jetty, work the dark side of the light edge.
• Read the taps, never strike — Bites are continuous light tremors, not one knock. Wind steadily, swing a loaded string in rather than lifting it clear, unhook from the bottom dropper up, and put keepers in an aerated pail.
