MEGABASS - ONETEN+1 SW 110mm 14g SUSPENDING LURE CASTING
Megabass Oneten+1 SW 110mm 14g Suspending Jerkbait
The Vision Oneten+1 is the mid-range member of the Oneten family, built to take the original's action about 3 feet deeper — roughly 9 feet on a standard retrieve. Its bill was redesigned to solve the usual long-bill problems of high water resistance, angler fatigue and a deadened darting action, so the bait keeps the Oneten's sharp, cutting response. Megabass also moved the line-eye in close to the body, cutting resistance further and making the lure easier to work through a long session. This is the SW version for salt water, and the extra depth suits jetty pilings, river-mouth drop-offs and structure sitting below the reach of a shallow minnow.
Key Features
- Suspending jerkbait, 110mm (4-1/3 in), 14g (1/2 oz)
- Runs to approximately 9 feet, around 3 feet deeper than the standard Vision Oneten
- Redesigned bill that avoids the resistance and dulled action of conventional long-bill minnows
- Line-eye positioned close to the body to reduce resistance and lighten the workload on the rod
- Dual-tungsten Multi-Way Moving Balancer System for casting distance and darting stability
- Internal rattles for an audible call in coloured or moving water
- #6 trebles
How To Fish It
- Twitch and stall — Wind it down to depth, then two short downward snaps and a pause of two to five seconds. The suspending body holds its position in the current and takes the hit on the stall.
- Work the tide line — Cast up-current at a river mouth or jetty gap and let the bait swing through the seam on a slow retrieve punctuated by single twitches. Fish sit on the slack side of the seam.
- Deep structure passes — Use the 9 ft range to run it past pilings, bridge columns and rock walls at the depth baitfish hold, rather than skating over the top.
- Slow roll at night — Around lit jetties and pontoons a plain steady wind is often enough; keep it just above the structure line.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Barramundi (siakap) around jetty pilings and mangrove drains, mangrove jack (jenahak bakau) on snag edges, queenfish (talang) and juvenile giant trevally over river-mouth flats.
- North America — Striped bass on coastal rips and estuary channels, snook around bridge lights and dock pilings, redfish and speckled trout in deeper inshore cuts.
- Japan & East Asia — Japanese seabass (suzuki) on shore-casting sessions in harbours and river mouths, plus hirame and flathead over sandy drop-offs.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Barramundi and mangrove jack in northern Australian estuaries, tailor and Australian salmon off headlands; queenfish and golden trevally on Gulf flats; European seabass over reef edges and harbour walls.
