Decoy Y-F33F Treble Hook — Made In Japan

The Y-F33F is the fluorine-coated member of Decoy’s F33 family, and the coating is why it exists. Fine wire and a Long Spear Point already give the shape an easy entry; Katsuichi’s Silky F Coat cuts sliding friction further, so the point keeps travelling once the tip is in rather than stalling in tough jaw tissue. That matters because the hook is deliberately thin: 1× fine wire with a micro barb, set to bury with the small force a soft crankbait rod transmits. The size range is the other half of the argument: Katsuichi run it from #8 to #4/0 including odd sizes such as #7, #5 and #3, so a 45 mm shad and a magnum big bait share one hooking behaviour. How To Rig It

• Upgrading crankbaits and jerkbaits — Fit #8 to small cranks, shads and 50–70 mm minnows. Fine wire and the coating convert the glancing contacts a treble usually loses.
• Big baits and swimbaits — The larger sizes carry the same point on a hook big enough for glide baits and jointed swimbaits. #1 is a common rear-hanger size on a mid-size big bait.
• Fish it with a soft sweep — Do not strike hard. Load the rod and lean into the fish; fine wire is opened by a locked drag, not by a heavy fish.
• Against the Y-F33B — Same F33 point, different job. The Y-F33B is the downsized NS Black version for micro plugs at #14 to #10, where the priority is a hook small enough not to kill a tiny lure. The Y-F33F carries the fluorine coating and the size ladder from #8 upward. The B is the micro end; the F is the working range above it.

• Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) and peacock bass on reservoir cranks, giant snakehead (toman) on the large sizes, barramundi (siakap) on jerkbaits at river mouths.
• North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass across the range, from squarebill cranks on #8 to glide baits on the 3/0 and 4/0 sizes; walleye and pike on hard baits.
