DECOY - WORM15 DREAM HOOK MADE IN JAPAN
Decoy Worm15 Dream Hook — Made In Japan
The Worm15 Dream Hook is an offset worm hook Katsuichi designed around horizontal movement rather than vertical fall. It is matched to rigs whose action is mostly side to side — no-sinker, split shot, light Carolina and heavy Carolina — where the bait needs to glide and roll instead of drop. Decoy point to soft stick baits of 4 to 6 inches — the bulky bodies usually hardest to convert on an offset hook — as the situation it was built for. The gap is shaped so the point still clears a thick body on the set, and the shank holds the plastic straight. This listing covers #6 and #8, the fine end of the range, for finesse worms and smaller straight-tail plastics.
Key Features
- Matched to no-sinker, split shot, light Carolina and heavy Carolina presentations
- Gap geometry aimed at converting bulky soft stick baits that other offsets miss
- NS Black finish, packed 9 hooks per size
- Factory range runs #8 to #3/0; this listing covers #6 and #8
- Made in Japan by Katsuichi
How To Rig It
- No-sinker (weightless) rig — Enter the nose, push through the width of the eye, rotate the hook 180 degrees and bury the point flush. Let the bait sink on completely slack line, then move it in slow sweeps. Nearly all bites come on the glide, so watch the line.
- Split shot rig — Pinch a small shot 30–50 cm above the hook and drag it with the rod tip low. Pause whenever the shot ticks a rock or weed edge; the worm keeps swinging horizontally after the weight stops.
- Light Carolina rig — Run a light bullet weight on the main line, add a swivel and a 60–100 cm leader. Sweep the rod sideways to move the weight, wind up the slack, then let the bait settle back down.
- Weedless finish — Skin-hook the point just under the surface of the plastic. It stays clear through weed and timber but releases with very little pressure.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) in clear rivers and reservoir inflows, peacock bass on weightless worms around structure, tilapia, and juvenile giant snakehead (toman) over weed edges.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on weightless and split shot presentations, plus crappie, perch and walleye on Carolina-rigged finesse worms.
- Japan & East Asia — Black bass in pressured reservoirs, canals and rivers, where no-sinker and split shot work is the standard answer to clear water and heavy traffic.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass and estuary bream on weightless plastics; perch and zander on split shot and Carolina rigs in European lakes and canals.
