DECOY - KR-30 RINGED MULTI HOOK MADE IN JAPAN
Decoy KR-30 Ringed Multi Hook
The KR-30 Ringed Multi is a single hook supplied with a split ring already fitted, so it clips straight onto a lure hanger without pliers, a spare ring box and three hands on a moving boat. Single hooks are increasingly the default on hard lures: they foul less on weed, net and clothing, they do less damage to fish being released, and one strong point often holds better through a long fight than three smaller ones. The KR-30 covers the common lure sizes for minnows, spoons, spinners and small jigs, finished in black nickel.
Key Features
- Split ring fitted from the pack — attaches directly to a lure hanger with no extra parts
- Single-point design that fouls far less than a treble on weed, leader and landing nets
- Suits minnows, spoons, spinners and small metal jigs
- Strong penetration with good holding power once set
- Usable in both freshwater and light saltwater situations
- Black nickel finish, four sizes from #6 to #9
How To Rig It
- Replacing a treble on a minnow — Open the lure's split ring, remove the treble, then fit the KR-30 by its supplied ring. Run the rear hook point facing up and the belly hook point facing forward — that orientation catches best on a twitch-and-pause retrieve.
- Spoons and spinners — Fit a single at the tail with the point riding up. A spoon freed of a treble wobbles truer and comes back cleaner over weed and rock.
- Assist-style on a small jig — Attach one at the head of a light metal jig so the point sits over the body. On a lift-and-flutter retrieve fish take on the drop, and the head-mounted single sets on the way up.
- Rear-only for release fishing — Strip the belly hook and run a single at the tail. The lure keeps working, the fish still hooks, and unhooking in the net takes seconds.
- Check the balance — After swapping hooks, run the lure alongside the boat. If it leans or rolls, step the hook size up or down until it tracks straight.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) and peacock bass on small minnows and spinners, snakehead (haruan) on shallow runners, and queenfish, small trevally and grouper (kerapu) off jetties.
- North America — Trout, char and salmon on spoons and spinners, smallmouth bass and walleye on minnows, and inshore speckled trout and small redfish.
- Japan & East Asia — Area trout and native yamame or iwana on spoons, plus light game for mebaru, kasago and small seabass.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, bream and flathead in estuaries; perch, pike and zander in European lakes and canals; small queenfish on Gulf flats.
