The Daiwa Revros is a front-drag spinning reel built as a dependable all-rounder for both lure and bait work. It comes in 3000 and 3500 sizes, each with a 4+1 bearing layout and 6 kg of maximum drag — enough to turn a fish away from structure while still letting line slip on a fast first run. The 3000 suits lighter braid and smaller lures; the 3500 holds more line and gives extra authority for bigger baits, current and open water.

How To Fish It

• Casting hard lures — Work minnows and small stickbaits along mangrove edges and jetty pilings. Keep the rod tip low and wind in short bursts so the lure changes speed rather than swimming at one pace.
• Soft plastics on a jig head — Count the lure down to the holding depth, then lift and drop the rod tip. Most takes come on the fall, so fish a semi-slack line and watch where it enters the water.
• Bait fishing with a set drag — Set the drag light so a running fish takes line cleanly, then wind down to load the rod instead of striking hard.
• Light shore jigging — Cast a small metal, let it hit the bottom, then wind steadily with occasional sharp lifts to trigger followers.
