The Poison Frog Jr. is a compact topwater lure that imitates a small frog moving on the surface. The 3.5cm body and 5.9g weight give a small prey presentation with enough mass to stay controllable on the cast. Where the rest of this frog group leans on natural greens and browns, this one is built the other way: a poison-frog-inspired body in bright contrasting colours, backed by ten patterns, so it reads as a target in muddy water, tannin-stained drains, low light and heavy surface scum. A flexible silicone skirt opens and pulses on the retrieve, and an internal rattle chamber adds sound for fish hunting by vibration rather than sight. A strong double hook sits close along the body and an adjustable weed guard lets it work through light vegetation with less snagging than an exposed-hook lure — no lure is completely snag-free.

Compared with the others here it sits in the middle: heavier for its length than the 4cm / 6.1g Tree Frog Jr., lighter for its length than the 3.5cm / 6.3g Bull Frog Jr. That puts it lower in the surface film than the Tree Frog Jr., pushing a slightly wetter, more visible wake, while still floating high enough to be worked slowly. How To Fish It

• Dirty-water search — In stained or muddy water pick a high-contrast colour, wind steadily and let the rattle do the work. Fish do not need to see it clearly to find it.
• Irregular hopping — Short, uneven rod-tip twitches make it hop off line like a frog trying to escape. Vary the gaps rather than settling into a rhythm.
• Twitch and hold — Two taps to work the rattle, then a three-second stop. The skirt keeps breathing on the pause and holds the lure in the strike zone.
• Adjust the weed guard — Bend the guard tighter for matted scum and open it out over clean water and light grass, where too much guard costs hook-ups.
• Set late — The resin body does not compress, so striking at the splash pulls it clear. Wind through the blow-up, wait for the rod to load, then sweep sideways.
