Luresfactory MF New Mash Frog 5cm 15.8g Hardbody Topwater

The New Mash Frog is the heavy member of the Mash Frog family: a 5cm body carrying 15.8g. It is shorter than the 5.5cm standard Mash Frog yet nearly three grams heavier, and that density is the whole point of the model. More mass in a shorter shell means it rides lower in the surface film, so a plain steady retrieve pushes a deeper, more visible wake instead of skimming. It casts further than any other frog in the family, holds its line in wind and chop, and tracks in a settled, deliberate way rather than skipping loose across the top. The realistic frog shape carries a natural colour pattern and detailed eyes, and flexible silicone skirt strands pulse behind the body. A strong 3/0 double hook — the largest in the family — sits close to the body, which lets it travel through light grass and vegetation with less hook exposure than a fully exposed treble. No lure is completely snag-free.

Key Features

  • Topwater frog, 5cm and 15.8g — the heaviest of the Mash Frog family
  • Realistic frog-shaped body with natural colour pattern and detailed eye design
  • Short, dense body sits lower in the film and pushes a stronger wake
  • Strong 3/0 rear double hook mounted close to the body
  • Flexible silicone skirt strands add vibration and movement
  • Casting weight suited to open water, distance and wind
  • Four natural colour patterns

How To Fish It

  • Long searching casts — Use the weight for what it is: reaching far weed lines, mid-water timber and windward banks the 6.6g Jr. cannot cover.
  • Steady wake retrieve — A constant medium-slow wind settles the body into the film and drags a broad V. Because it sits lower than the lighter frogs, the wake is bigger and carries further in stained water.
  • Twitch and pause — Two or three short rod-tip twitches, then stop for two to three seconds. Leave slack so each sweep finishes; most takes come during the stop.
  • Bigger fish, bigger hook — The 3/0 hook and the extra mass suit heavier fish and heavier line. Where a small frog gets crushed and thrown, this one gives more to bite down on.
  • Pause before setting — Striking at the splash pulls a hard body clear. Wind through the blow-up, wait until the rod loads with weight, then sweep sideways.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) on reservoirs, ex-mining lakes and drowned timber where distance decides how much water is covered; striped snakehead (haruan) in wide canals; peacock bass around lily edges; hampala barb (sebarau) on river weed lines.
  • North America — Largemouth bass on big lakes over hydrilla and pad fields; bowfin and chain pickerel in southern backwaters; northern snakehead in tidal rivers.
  • Japan & East Asia — Snakehead (raigyo) on open canal and pond cover, catfish (namazu) at dusk, bass over shallow reservoir weed.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Saratoga and barramundi (siakap) in billabongs and weedy creek arms; pike over weed beds in European lakes and canals.
