Luresfactory MF Mash Frog 5.5cm 13g Hardbody Topwater

The Mash Frog is the standard-size model in the family and the longest body of the four, at 5.5cm and 13g. Length and weight together make it the all-rounder. The 5.5cm shell shows a full-size frog silhouette and swings wide on a twitch, while 13g spread over that longer body means it floats higher than the shorter, heavier New Mash Frog — it holds a surface action at slower speeds, sits up on the pause, and still carries enough mass for accurate casts to weed edges and grass lines. The realistic body has detailed skin texture, prominent eyes and natural colour patterns, and the silicone skirt pulses behind it. A rear double hook sits close along the body, so it travels around light grass and vegetation with less hook exposure than a fully exposed treble. No lure is completely snag-free.

Key Features

  • Topwater frog, 5.5cm and 13g — the longest body in the Mash Frog family
  • Realistic frog body with detailed skin texture and prominent eyes
  • Weight spread over a longer shell, so it floats higher and works at slower speeds
  • Flexible silicone skirt adds vibration and movement through the retrieve and pause
  • Rear double hook mounted close to the body for work around light cover
  • Suits steady, twitching and pause retrieves
  • Three colour patterns

How To Fish It

  • Steady surface swim — Wind at a constant unhurried speed for continuous surface movement. Because it floats higher than the New Mash Frog, it keeps its action at speeds where a denser frog begins to plough.
  • Twitch and pause — Short rod-tip twitches produce an irregular, frog-like scramble; then stop for two to three seconds. The long body swings wide, so leave slack and let each sweep finish before the next input.
  • Accurate casts to cover — 13g is enough to place a cast into a gap in the pads, a shaded pocket under a bush or the corner where a drain meets a canal, without the heavy entry of a 15.8g body.
  • Work the edge — Cast parallel to a grass line or reed wall and keep the lure within a rod length of it for the whole retrieve rather than pulling out into open water.
  • Pause before setting — Striking at the splash pulls a hard body clear. Wind through the blow-up, wait for the rod to load with weight, then sweep sideways.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) around pond margins, reservoir edges and drowned timber; striped snakehead (haruan) in canals and drains; peacock bass in lily pockets; hampala barb (sebarau) where flowing water meets weed.
  • North America — Largemouth bass over pads, hydrilla and backwater sloughs; bowfin and chain pickerel in southern swamps; northern snakehead in tidal creeks.
  • Japan & East Asia — Snakehead (raigyo) on canal and pond cover, catfish (namazu) at dusk, bass along shallow reservoir weed.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Saratoga and barramundi (siakap) in billabongs and weedy creek arms; pike and perch over weed beds in European lakes and canals.
