Recommended Pairing

Use lower ratings with lighter jigs and moderate-depth spinning or overhead outfits. Middle strengths suit general offshore jigging, while 60–80lb options require heavier rods, larger reels and terminal connections built for higher drag.

Pair with mono or fluorocarbon leader long enough for reef or hull contact. Choose leader and knot by real drag setting, not only by the maximum label on the braid.

Spool braid under firm, even tension. Use a braid-compatible knot, tighten it progressively and test the completed leader connection before fishing. Select the final line class for reel capacity, terminal load, working drag, leader strength and cover—not by breaking strain alone.
