Hayabusa SS110 Twist Pink With White Flasher Sabiki (6 Hooks Per Pack)

The SS110 sits in Hayabusa’s Jissen Sabiki (実戦サビキ, “practical sabiki”) line, where rig dimensions and the hook-to-branch-to-main balance are set from field experience rather than round numbers. Each of the six branches combines three different materials: soft white fish-skin strips that flutter, twist-pink skin that rotates in the current and throws pink flashes, and pearl aurora flasher fibres that break up the outline. Glow-green beads and mixed colour beads add a fixed point of contrast in deep or stained water. The 2.8 m rig uses 40 cm hook spacing and 20 cm branch lines so the six dressings work independently instead of bunching together.

Key Features

  • Twist skin (ツイスト) in pink — the strip is twisted, not flat, so current spins it on its own axis and it flickers rather than hanging dead
  • Flasher (フラッシャー) — pearl aurora fibres beside the hook that catch and scatter light
  • Soft white fish-skin strips for a slower, more natural flutter alongside the harder pink flash
  • Glow-green luminous beads: charge them under a torch or daylight and they carry visible light down into deep or shaded water
  • New Aji hooks, the flattened-shank pattern used for small-mouthed schooling fish
  • 20 cm branch lines give each dressing room to swim; 40 cm spacing reduces tangling
  • 2.8 m total length with swivels at both ends for quick rigging

How To Fish It

  • Charge the ami-kago — Sabiki fishing (サビキ釣り) is a baited method. Pack the cage with mashed Antarctic krill (ami-ebi) and clip it to the rig.
  • Drop to the layer — Stop the rig at the depth showing bait on the sounder rather than fishing blind on the bottom.
  • Shake, then hold still — Two or three sharp up-and-down lifts empty krill from the cage. Stop dead and let the six dressings hang inside that cloud; the pink twist and white skin are then taken for krill among real krill.
  • Use the pink in coloured water — Pink and white read well in green or plankton-rich water and under overcast light; charge the glow beads before a deep drop or a dawn session.
  • Wind slowly on a full string — Several fish on feels like a continuous light tremor. Keep winding at one speed and swing the rig aboard; a hard lift pulls hooks from soft mouths.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Indian mackerel (kembung), bigeye scad (selar) and sardine (tamban) from kelong and anchored boats; held in an aerated bucket they go straight back down as live bait for grouper (kerapu), queenfish (talang) and trevally.
  • North America — Pacific mackerel, sardine and jacksmelt from piers and party boats; Atlantic mackerel and herring as tuna and striped bass bait.
  • Japan & East Asia — Boat sabiki-zuri for aji and saba, and the isaki (grunt) this pattern is also built around.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Slimy mackerel, yellowtail scad and garfish off wharves; scad along Gulf harbour walls; mackerel and herring from European piers.
