Decoy Worm26 Kg Hook Magnum Worm Hook — Made In Japan
“Kg” is not a weight rating — it is the name of Decoy’s Kg Hook (Kilo Hook) family, the company’s power offset range, which also includes the Kg Hook Worm17, the extra-heavy Kg Hyper, the wide-gape Kg Hook Wide and the narrow-gape Kg Hook Narrow. The Worm26 is the magnum member: the same hook character taken up to a size that will carry the oversized swimbaits, big creature baits and magnum worms that ordinary offset hooks cannot hold. Decoy rebuilt three areas to get there: the eye is opened out to accept heavy line and most snap types, the crank behind the eye is shaped to carry the weight of a large bait without it sliding down, and the gape is set wide enough to clear a thick body and still reach the jaw. The wire is heavy gauge, the points are sharp enough to drive through that much plastic, and the NS Black finish keeps it usable in salt as well as fresh water.
Key Features
- Magnum-size member of Decoy’s Kg Hook (Kilo Hook) power offset family
- Heavy-gauge wire built for oversized baits and heavy line
- Wide eye that accepts heavy line and most snap types
- Reworked crank to hold the weight of a large bait in position on the shank
- Wide gape shaped to clear a thick body and still find the jaw
- NS Black finish for corrosion resistance in fresh and salt water
- Three sizes: #6/0, #8/0 and #10/0
How To Rig It
- Texas rigging a magnum bait — Enter the nose, thread the plastic down to the crank, exit the underside, then slide the body forward and set the point back into it. On baits this size, check the point sits just under the skin rather than deep in the body, or it will not clear on the set.
- Weightless or lightly weighted — A big soft swimbait fishes well on this hook with no weight at all, twitched and allowed to glide. Add a bullet weight only to reach depth or punch cover.
- Setting the hook — Do not snap the rod. Reel down until the fish is loading the rod, then drive with a long sweep. Heavy wire and a thick bait need travel, not speed.
- Where it sits in the range — This is the heavy end of Decoy’s worm hooks. At the opposite end, the Worm23 Body Hook is a superfine-wire masubari finesse hook for wacky and neko rigs on small plastics. Same maker, opposite jobs: pick the Worm26 when the bait is big and the cover is heavy, the Worm23 when the fish will not commit.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) on large soft frogs and swimbaits, big peacock bass, barramundi (siakap) on oversized plastics at river mouths, and grouper over rubble and rock walls.
- North America — Trophy largemouth bass on magnum swimbaits and big creature baits; inshore, redfish, snook and striped bass on large soft plastics.

- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Barramundi and Murray cod on big plastics in impoundments; hamour on Gulf structure; pike and large zander on oversized soft baits in European lakes and rivers.
