Decoy Worm25 Kg Hook Wide Gap Offset Worm Hook — Made In Japan

“Kg” is not a weight rating. It is the name of Katsuichi’s Kg Hook (Kilo Hook) family, Decoy’s power offset range, and the Worm25 is its wide-gape member. It keeps the shank form and hooking behaviour of the original Kg Hook Worm17 and opens the gape out well beyond it. The reason is geometric: a bulky bait — a fat creature, a ribbed craw, a hollow-body swimbait — puts several millimetres of plastic between point and upper jaw, and a normal gape spends its travel clearing that thickness instead of reaching bone. The extra width buys the travel back. Katsuichi did not solve it by thickening the wire; they matched gauge and crank length so the point still penetrates rather than needing force behind it. NS Black finish covers fresh and salt water, and seven sizes from #2 to #5/0 cover most of the plastics a bass or estuary angler fishes.

How To Rig It

• Texas rig — Enter the nose, thread down to the crank, exit the belly, then slide the body forward and set the point back just under the skin. Skin-hooked, not buried: the wide gape only helps if the point breaks out cleanly.
• Punching and flipping — Pin a tungsten bullet weight, drop it through matted weed or hyacinth, and let it fall on a controlled line. Reel down and sweep hard once the fish loads the rod.
• Weightless bulky baits — Big creatures and hollow-body swimbaits fish well with no weight at all on this hook, twitched and glided over shallow cover.
• Where it sits in the Kg family — The Worm17 is the standard power offset, the Worm13 Kg Hyper the extra-heavy version, the Worm37 Kg Hook Narrow the closed gape for slim worms. The Worm25 and Worm26 split the bulky-bait work: the Worm25 is the wide gape within normal bass sizes, #2 to #5/0, while the Worm26 Kg Hook Magnum runs #6/0 to #10/0 for oversized swimbaits. Choose by gape when the bait is thick, by size only when it is genuinely huge.
