Bossna Rolling Swivel 7516 Black Nickel
The Bossna 7516 is the plain rolling swivel in this family — two formed eyes, no snap, nothing that can spring open. The rolling action keeps turning under load, so twist from a spinning blade or a rotating bait is shed at the swivel instead of reaching the reel. Strong steel with a black nickel coating keeps reflection down and resists corrosion, across eight sizes.
Key Features
- Smooth rolling rotation that keeps turning under load to reduce twist
- Strong steel construction, dependable under heavy pulling load
- Black nickel coating — low reflection, added corrosion protection
- Compact profile; eight sizes, #8 to #3/0, freshwater and saltwater
Which Connection Mechanism
- Plain rolling swivel (7516, this model) — no snap. Nothing to lever open, smallest profile, but you retie for every lure change.
- Danish snap (7510) — open-hook snap, quickest one-handed, and the easiest here to lever open against timber.
- V snap (7518) — the wire tucks into a V, so load tends to close it rather than open it. Compact and fast.
- C lock (7521) — the tag wire sits captured in a formed C and must be unhooked deliberately. Most positive lock, slightly more bulk.
- New strong snap (7523) — the reinforced pattern, and the only one running from #10 up to #3/0.
- Quick line connector (7526) — no snap, no knot: a leader loop drops over an open connector under a sliding sleeve.
- Picking one — toman and mangrove timber: C lock or new strong snap. Frequent lure swaps off the rocks: Danish or V snap. Trolling under sustained load: this 7516, leader knotted straight in.
How To Rig It
- Main line to leader — Palomar from braid to the top eye, improved clinch to the leader below. Wet both knots before seating.
- Matching size to line — Bigger number means smaller swivel: #8 lightest, #3/0 heaviest. Match line class and lure weight, not the fish you hope for.
- After saltwater — Rinse in fresh water and dry. A swivel that no longer turns freely has stopped working.
- The weakest link — Never let the connector be the lightest part of the rig. If leader and hooks outrate it, step the swivel up.
