Blade jigging is a step beyond plain metal-jig work, and this assembly is what makes it possible. The 368BS / 369BG is a ready-to-use blade and hook unit for the rear of a compact metal jig: a blade turning on a ball-bearing swivel, with the hook built into the same assembly. On the retrieve the blade spins instead of the jig — the bearing keeps it turning freely even at speed — adding two signals a bare jig cannot produce: flash from a second moving surface, and vibration a fish feels before it sees anything. The spinning blade also adds drag, so the rig falls slower and stays visible longer on the drop, which is where a following fish often commits.

Shout developed it around sawara (Spanish mackerel) blade jigging, a Japanese style built on very fast retrieves through bait schools, where flash and vibration matter more than lure shape. It also works with jerk, stop and fall retrieves, and picks up red sea bream and rockfish as well as pelagics. Two blade colours: 368BS in silver, 369BG in gold. Silver is the clear-water and bright-day choice; gold gives more contrast in stained water and at low sun.

How To Rig It

• Rear position only — Fit the assembly to the tail eye of the jig with a split ring. It belongs at the back: a blade at the nose fouls the leader and kills the jig's action.
• High-speed straight retrieve — Cast or drop, then wind fast and steadily with the rod low, holding one constant speed. This is the retrieve the assembly was built for.
• Jerk, stop and fall — For fish that will not chase, wind three or four fast turns, jerk twice, then stop and let the rig fall on a controlled line. The blade keeps turning on the drop, and that is when the take comes.
• Size to the jig — S for compact 20–40 g jigs and light tackle; M as the general choice on 40–80 g; L for larger jigs and bigger fish. An oversized blade will spin the whole jig instead of itself.

• Southeast Asia — Tenggiri (Spanish mackerel), queenfish, small gerepoh (giant trevally) and barracuda over reef edges, drop-offs and bait schools.
